    Not yet griff ,

But the water levels from the rivers were fast flowing reaching levels not seen for many years .
But we weren't as bad as what the good people of Carlisle and surrounding areas have been through.

    Settling down now though. Thankfully[/quote]

That's until The Jetstream strays from it's normal course again. I really fear for those who live on the West side of the country with it's higher rain falls.

Aye Akwesasne they get enough as it is..

Flood defenses need to take some urgency from the respective governments or this could cause insurances to go up big time or even some homes may not get the insurance they really need through clauses.

Flooding defences need to be increased big time not sure where the money will come from due to the UK dept of over £1-6 trillion
Its the people that will suffer and that isn't nice to see.we can always live in hope.

Where will the money come from? Slow down the completion of Crossrail and divert some of the £16 billion that it's costing. After all, London has its flood defences in the form of the Thames Barrier so why not provide the rest of us with something that works. Also, call off HS2 and divert that money to the North and Scotland.

Tories though; they won't do it. Too much invested through their friends.

Glad you're safe by the way.

Too much tax avoidance as well which if paid would pay for flood defence infrastructure and with the cooperation of the industrialised countries doing the same thing would go a long way to towards solving Global warming which is the root cause of changing global weather patterns.
