I just hope the money is put to good use.
I share Despair's view that Rhodes doesn't have the all-round game of a truly top-class striker, but I agree with you that it's very hard to argue with his record.
I wonder where we'd be this season if we hadn't lost Gestede. Rhodes has looked a bit lost at times since he left.
Your last sentence brings up the key issue, Seventwo. I am hoping PL is a proper, dour, tight-fisted Scot who insists on value-for-money. I think GB did pretty well with signings, considering the lack of cash at his disposal. The last thing we want to do is to revert to being a club that buys former "stars", just because they are available.

It is sad he had to go. If the team around could have been brought up to scratch instead, he'd have been a big player in moving forward quickly. But we need a team, before we need a guy that can score for fun, but do nothing else. If the wages can be put to use trying to get a team together, then such is football I guess. I hope Plan B works out, it is long overdue.

I hardly think they can be accused of asset stripping Alf. Of being morons, yes.

I do wonder where the cairney, gestede money has gone to be fair.. If they were to reinvest that along with the Rhodes, olsson money, we by right should have a 20 odd million transfer kitty? Can't see it, can you?

I think the money was used to get us out of the transfer embargo
It's a shame that the rules only applied for one season as alot of teams would fall to the sword next season typical fa bottled it when somebody didn't whistle their tune.
