Yeah, all those goals he scored showed what a lazy sod he is and how he didn't care one bit.

Anyway, I do think the cost of his wages will be better spent getting a better team together. So onwards and upwards indeed

Despite my criticising posts re JR, I wish him well and offer appreciation for his contribution with us.
Neither happy, or sorry to see him go, it had to be.
My crits have always been about his limited 'abilities', yes even with his prolific strike rate.
I am wholeheartedly with PL on this ie just tell it how it is.
He was bought on the premise of being our figurehead towards promotion (nothing more, nothing less). He was not bought to save us from the (further) drop.
As such we paid IMO well over the odds (as thankfully Midd have now - again IMO), but that's the modern game for you.
His weekly pay at this level and in our 'situation' has been eye wateringly staggering, it has greatly contributed in taking us toward 'the brink'.
The failure was not JR failing to deliver, but our squad and manager failing to make the best of it. This, even with an equally proficient goal machine directly alongside!
That was when it was as clear as day, this ain't gona work, and that is when we s

    Fair comment,Despair.

Jordan Rhodes has scored more goals in the past 4 seasons than ANY OTHER player in ANY of the top 4 Divisions.Fact. So his scoring has been consistent, also he isnt injury prone,he doesnt rock the boat with bad behaviour. Class act,in fact. Fully deserved his salary from us. Its just a pity other players couldnt have delivered their part of the bargain : ****son Etuhu,Danny Murphy,Leon Best are you listening ? The defending last season was dreadful. As for blaming JR because he doesnt hold the ball up,hasnt got pace, etc ...maybe thats why weve got about £11 million for him,and not £41 million ??

PL is bringing in too many old stalwarts for me but we have to wait and see how it all develops-not a single Academy player in sight - maybe cos he needs a quick fix. As I say, we live in hope.

    What about lenihan Bob?
he could be in and around the first team for the remainder of the season
I feel he has brought in established footballers because we are more or less in a battle
next season we will only keep who will benefit us for a push
nearly all the signings are on loan or short term deals thus putting the ball in their court.

I can honestly recognise your and Champs personal 'justification' of JR's value and salary in reflection of his s

Agreed,Despair. Irrespective of his own personal riches,JR has done PL one big, massive favour by giving him indirectly the funds to do his rebuilding by going back to Middlesborogh a second time to re-negotiate his deal....no arrogance there.

Wish Jordan Rhodes all the very best(except against us)hes a class act, something you can say about very few footballers.

    Sad he had to go.
Apart from Shearer have we had a better goalscorer in the last 50 years?
I just hope the money is put to good use.
