Lots of talk about the DCFC academy. How much of a success is it? Hughes is obvious & Hanson looked promising. Rawson Maybe? Mason Bennett's not had many opportunities, maybe looking more like a league one player? I may have missed some.

Could it not be a combination of all three...personal behaviour, playing style/results and failure to buy into the importance of the Academy? I've no idea but it could be that something happened that was the 'final straw'. Let's face it, the situation of the last fortnight is hardly in Mel's best interests.

It could well be a combination of factors, what is known is that there was a schism between Clement and Mel, now the reason for the sacking may just have been an opportunity to end the relationship as it wasn't working - that happens often in organisations and is nothing sinister.
Generally if you don't get on with the person in charge of the organisation you work for, then you either adapt or you leave that organisation.
I have heard something from a person who is in a position to know about what happened, for legal reasons it would not be appropriate to say.
The reason Clement hasn't said anything is not hard to fathom, usually in these instances there will be a compromise agreement accompanied by a payment which covers what can and cannot be said publicly.
Clement has gone, so endless speculating about why is pointless IMO, its what happens now that is of concern and it seems we long suffering fans will have to wait and see what Wassall achieves, whilst knowing if we don
I always think that if a player from the reserves is good enough then he'll be brought through. You can't jeopardise the first team by playing youngsters who aren't good enough. In the past few years we've bought through Hendrick and Hughes who are now established first teamers. We've also tried to bring through Mark O'Brien and Mason Bennett who just didn't make the grade. For me it seems Hanson doesn't know what his best position is because he's too small to be a centre back, and looked lost in midfield. I'd like to see Rawson given a go. When I watched the under 21s on Tuesday, it was the first time I've seen him play not on TV and he looked solid. We've heard rave reviews from Rotherham so he could be good as cover for Keogh and Shackell, available to step in when need be.
Anagram I watch the u21s regularly and apart from Hanson there is not really anyone who you put straight into the first team That's not to say there is no talent there because there is although the team gets change such a lot its hard to follow any particular player Calero has the talent but not sure about his physique for Champs . As for the final straw I think and this is only my opinion not fact it was the team selection at Fulham to keep £18 million pounds of talent on the bench would surely not go down well with MM and SR especially as we didn't get 3 points Personally though I would back Clements on this one we needed changes Not hard to see where Wassalls thoughts are when he immediately brings Ince back Still if that's his choice along with Russell or Weiman he will end up in the same position as Clements
This is not true.
At Clements Q&A he was asked about the young players at the club and if some/any had a chance of making the first team in the future. Tbh I don't know many of the youngsters that haven't made the first team in the past but he was asked about someone, I think a forward, strong and pacey, although a bit raw?
Anyway, Clement said some of the youngsters are invited to train with the first team, so that they have the experience of training with first team players and the coaches can have a look at them. This particuler player was one such case. Clement went on to wax lyrical about Hanson and talked about a left-back that was a really good prospect but had some injury issues at the moment.
So was Clement telling lies in front of a couple hundred fans at this forum?
We're not in a position to be blooding youngsters. It's easier when you're in mid-table with nothing to win or lose. If it wasn't for our long period of fixing, I don't think we'd have seen players like Hendrick, Hughes Bennett, O'Brien and any others I've missed, getting game time.
If Clement fielded a youngster who then went on to look lost / poor it wouldn't have looked good, and he'd be hounded for not playing our strongest side / subs bench.

Was the striker Kwame Thomas? Every time I've seen him he's looked average. The left back will obviously be Max Lowe who's just broke hOriginally Posted by HOODIE
Might be just me but I'd say giving youngsters a game when the team is playing with confidence would be the best time?? Or at least putting them on the bench!? Example Clement wanted to add some pace in January, got Camara and Blackman in when we had three very vibrant Pacey youngsters in Bennett, McDonald and Zanzala, who subsequently got loaned out, would it have been Unthinkable to maybe put them on the bench? While we were flying high??
