    Why settlement agreement. Unless the club is going to save money they can keep him on as an employee until he finds another job.

    He's been relived of his duties but how do you know he's not still an employee?

    Seems obvious to me. Its a trade off. The club agree to keep quiet about the real reason for PC's misdemeanour resulting in him being fired, in exchange for total non disclosure from PC and waiver of compensation.
