Sounds to me like you lot are advocating a "not bother turning up at Brighton performance"? Hardly the Corinthian spirit, is it guys?

Not mathematically but I'd be very surprised if we don't.Originally Posted by ManxRam

It depends who the chairman decides to pick for the Brighton game. However there are squad players well capable making their opportunities count for something, as Bent proved in the last match.
If I was manager my message to the team would be clear:
Target to win the last 2 games 3:0
Not only would we then be massively the form team going into the play-offs but psychologically we would have:
Hull by the nuts as we've beaten them twice in the league and potentially finished above them in the league (giving Ipro second leg).
Almost guarantee that Brighton would be in the play-offs and should we meet them in the final know that we have just hammered them when they were going all out for the autos.
Do I realistically think these results will happen? No, and even if they do Sod's law would probably mean we would get Wednesday in the final!
However imo this should be the target given to the team, the best chance of winning the play-offs is to be bold, success breeds success.
Go big or go home COYR!!!!!
Don't gnore Sheff Wed. They showed against us that they will be difficult to beat. It wouldn't surprise me to see them do a QPR!!
100% agree, Sheffield Wed in the final would scare me if that is the way it plays out.
My comment was not intended to come across as I think we will win last two with a +6 goal difference and then stroll the playoffs before a ball is kicked - not at all
It is directed as how I would set the mentality of team ahead of the run in.
I do not see a benefit of wrapping our best players in cotton wool and simply turning up for the last two league fixtures as if they are irrelevant - they are massively relevant!
Don't tell me it is a good opportunity to blood youngsters or experiment with 'what if' formations/ selections - it is simply not the right time.
Players get injured in training etc, and I think approaching the play-offs the winning momentum of the team/squad/club/fans has to be #1.
Take it the 'depends who the chairman decides to pick' comment is tongue in cheek Vanders...if not...and if that is really what you think...why on earth would he have spent money on bringing Redknapp in?Originally Posted by "vanderlaans_header"? Hardly the Corinthian spirit, is it guys?[/quote

Yes AR, absolutely tongue in cheek, I think......
can,t be bothered to tell you the truth i MIGHT watch the po games on tv . it should just be the top 3 that go up . or put the 3rd place team straight to wembley and have the 4th and 5th placed teams to play for the right for a place their .i can,t believe a team finishing as low as 7th can get promotion .

I can see the arguments for and against, but as the play offs have been part of the scene for decades that ship has sailed and in truth it does mean that a hell of a lot more teams have meaningful games right up until the last game of the season, plus the play offs are exciting for the fans and a day out at wembley for lesser clubs is not to be sniffed at.
Not sure why you cant be bothered with any competition that Derby are involved with IF your a fan but hey each to his own!
