riley, that's a balanced, intelligent and fair-minded appraisal. Well done. GK gets far too much undeserved stick imo.

George Kerr was a victim in the grand scheme of things.
We'd just had the most exciting few years in donkeys years. Had legends like Moore, Towner, Gow, Forrest, and so on. Had a national celebrity managing us and playing in front of big crowds against top sides.
Then the reality of that b@stard AJ came to light. We went into freefall, all our heroes left and we were left with the dross from Grimsby.
In our first season under Kerr in the 3rd division around Easter time we were there are thereabouts. Syd Wood offered to fund a couple of transfers but GK turned the offer down, saying it was more important to get the club financially stable.
George Kerr was nowhere near the worse manager we have had. For me, Scott, Cusack, Hunter, Begara and this clown now are all worse than he was.
Some great Tuesday nights at Millmoor under Georgy boy.
No he wasn't the worse, most unpopular but not the worse by a long way.

To answer the opening thread I would say the stats don't lie so yes he is....
Wonder what Redfearn makes of all of this?
