Very funny . I hope they do go straight back down, not for any other reason other than the two vile (excuse the pun) loud moths that appear on here very occasionally. I doubt they will though, I think they will be mid table or just below.

It cannot be right that if a club like Villa can break the rules to the extent that if they’d failed to go up they’d be facing life next season in the Championship on minus however many points but be going up everything is okay!

Utter b o l l o x that they avoided being penalised during the season like Blues were and that at best they don’t start in the Prem on minus 12 points.

    The whole thing stinks.
Could be down to a case of not what you pay, but who you pay, agree the whole thing stinks.

Villa did gamble massively in the first season with huge buys and the parachute payments were there to help finance them, since then we've been relatively frugal and with the TV money/year 3 parachute payment being so low vs massive wage bills (Micah Richards FFS) done us in.
Yes, WCV. The whole thing stinks. Your club is a good example as to why the FFP exists, precisely to protect clubs from themselves. All that history nearly bar a few days went down the drain due to one bad owner who put all his chips on promotion and lost. Regardless of who goes up, if they've broken the rules and spent more than came in then the points deduction should apply in the EPL. All non-punishment does is encourage rule breaking.

I agree Stripes that it shouldn't be one rule for us and everyone else get lost as that would make me a hypocrite; been reading some more and as of a few days after the playoff final we moved to PL rules and out of the EFL jurisdiction. The PL rules devotes 3 pages to FFP, the EFL has 58! Tells its own story really and things need to change.
