I know what you mean, Terry, but we're entering a very strange phase...we're in limbo, effectively. We can't really get into an in-depth discussion about the future under these fellas because the deal hasn't been signed off yet. But, on the other hand, no-one really wants to talk about the squad and manager as it currently is because nobody wants to even contemplate going back there. Add in the current situation with the lockdown and it's no wonder that the speculation has grown to crazy levels.

Well that in fact is the first thing which must happen before anything else can go forward. So let's all look forward to the celebrations which will follow on that announcement.

Over the past good few years it's been on and off with speculation and downright disappointment following just to pander fatty's small minded satisfaction to string the fans along.

This time he really seems to have got himself into a corner and it looks like there's no escape route for him. Let's all hope when it's done and dusted and he's sat in his coner counting his spoils he suffers badly with his ill gotten gains and investments he uses them for.

To win the league - can't believe i'm seriously tryping that - i think 5 seasons minimum, i think in all honesty we'd be looking at 7 or 8.

A cup, now that i could see within a couple of seasons.

I also don't think some of hte "****" players that Hughes signed we're ****. They were players that allowed City to move up a level to attract the really big names.

Top 5-6 within 2 years would be great, european nights, big matches and a reasonable chance of winning any game, but most importantly to me...an attacking, exciting brand of football with the toon support fully behind the team....magic

Having decent investment nurturing and growing our club to compete with the top clubs in the premier league as well as the world is something we’ve only been able to dream of.

I’m not bothered how long it takes as long as we are making progress and travelling upward instead of the steady decline we have been witnessing for so long.

This will safe guard the club for future.
all the apathy of the last decade will be wiped away.
No more lost generations of kids to the likes of Man City.

I would rather it took time For us to compete, methodical planning and investing in the right places, rather than buying the league like other top teams have done.

the exclusivity period for PIF ends on May 14th, not 100% sure about what that means but im led to believe other buyers have a chance of getting the club.

Also Ashley has another bidder willing to go 50m higher allegedly so no doubt he now wants this one to be successfull.

Additional 50m from new bidders and the 17m non refundable from PIF if this sale falls through

I'm sure I read somewhere its not as simple as that. Plus its that knacka Luke Edwards spouting about the 14th. I am almost certain this one has to run its course at the Premier League 1st as even if the slug tried to accept a higher bid I cant see them having 2 owners/directors tests at once. Am certain it ends only if the money isn't paid in a timeframe after the go ahead from PL.
I am totally calm over it all as it will go through. The 1st date mentioned was 9th April when it went to the PL. The day before Good Friday, so it won't have even started at best until 14th/15th April. So we are what, 3 weeks into a 2-4 week test. Patience, our fanbase want this so much and a lot are driving themselves crazy checking every 5 mins.
A lot of them say it won't happen as it is out in the open. Well it isn't from Ashley, Staveley, Rueben's or the Saudis. It all came from Companies House. Then a lot saying it won't happen as there has been no news. Well we can't have it both ways. We will soon be dining at the top table instead of Burger King. #cans

Aye...after all the initial excitement-and with it the worry when all the gobshites on the internet started spouting off about how and why it wasn't going to happen-the reality of the process has settlied in. The process could last up to 4 weeks and who knows what effect the lockdown will have had on communications between the relevant parties. Then, if it is passed, the money has to be transferred and, depending on the method and amount, that can take between 2-5 days, not including bank holidays or weekends.

So, aye-we could actually still be a couple of weeks off .
