The unprecedented event of a match being called off at such short notice, required the immediate emergency assembly of an extraordinary committee meeting, akin to a government Cobra meeting. Such was the gravity of the situation.

The issue in hand was discussed in depth and a democratic vote was taken to pass said new rule of, ' No adjustments to the goal tally to be allowed once submitted'. This has been duly logged and dated.

For the record, the vote was upheld by a majority of one.

I did have another suggestion Brin that would have catered for postponements without any change in the rules but it's probably too late now and would only have upset Cayton. We could have asked people to predict the scores of the games, still give the same points related to results H,A,D but only count the total goals predicted in the games that are actually played against to total of goals actually scored. Might have caused you to burn the midnight oil though to work it all out with your quill pen, ink pot, parchment and abacus
