Having taken onboard the feedback from our overseas friends and others, I have now decided to remove the right to amend any goal tally score once submitted, if games are called off last minute and prior to the first match taking place.
It is a distinct disadvantage for the likes of CAMiller and CTMilller who have to rise at 7am, (3pm our time) and expect them to have logged on and seen a late cancelled match like ours was last Saturday.
No one expected that to have happened and it's fair to point out, only a few spotted this and made adjustments, myself included. As it turned out, no one won due to the low score of 15 thus removing a possible international incident from over the pond.
Going forward, choose your tally carefully and here's to no other games or incidents like last Saturday happening again.
I trust I have your understanding and support with this decision.
Next two sets of fixtures to follow later.
Thanks Brin.
I'm OK with my (and everybody who doesn't get to do a manual update) goal total being automatically adjusted pro-rata downward by the powers that be (i.e. YOU) should this happen again. For example if I predicted 20 and 2 games are postponed then my adjusted total would be 16, if I'd predicted 30 and 3 games were postponed my new total would be 21 etc.
This of course assumes your abacus can cope with the maths and people understand that totals will be rounded to the nearest whole number e.g. 23.0-23.4 becomes 23 and 23.5 to 23.9 becomes 24.
Geezus. It's like the Boris and Keir show.
Nope sorry I'm not changing the rules. You must change the rules. Nope the rules stay. 24 hour later. I'm changing the rules. I told you to change the rules, why don't folk listen to me.
Divide my prediction by 10 (assuming 10 games were in the original set) and multiply by the number of games actually played.
e.g. I predict 25 and only 7 of 10 games are played
25/10=2.5
7x2.5=17.5 round up to 18
Easy!
Except of course when I'm called Cayton then I predict 24 if 1 or 100 games are played![]()
