There is no arguement we all love the game but quite frankly with the amount of infections/deaths the game needs to be stopped.

They are not essential/frontline workers they are footballers and the country does not rely on them.

I agree that all football should be stopped at the moment and the players put on furlough.

Would be interesting to see how Premier League and EFL top earners reacted to being paid the maximum £2,500 per month.

I agree they are obviously not key workers, but there has been a lot made of the lift in moral it gave the country to have football back. Outside patient care I'm assuming it's one of the very few jobs that has to have physical contact and with no PPE and a lot of these players could have people with vulnerabilities at home.

Lets be clear though games are getting postponed because of one case, if these players don't get vaccinated till the end of the year in line with the projections and this new strain remains, then where does it leave next season nevermind this one.

You are seeing one case in the NL as the testing isnt as regular if it was it would be more take a look at Man City / Aston Villa / Derby.

We dont need everyone vaccinated though to be "normal" we need to get the people in essential jobs and 50+ done.

Whitty/Vallance say if we get 50-60% vaccinated we have won.

The virus will never be zero as Whitty said its about getting these infections down to a managable level.

The new season can start September and the vast majority will have been done.

If you want me to be brutally honest we are in this grim state as we have millions of d*ckheads in the UK who haven't took any notice of what they have been "advised" to do.

I would imagine this funding is precisely why some of the smaller clubs haven't come forward and refused to play, the way they'd organised it some of the smaller teams were actually making more money than if their 200 fans had been allowed to go to the games so they're probably not too fussed what happens while they're making more money than they were before
