It leaves us currently without Thomas as if he has a serious injury.

If other squad members did the same we would be right down the bottom end of the league Ardley would get the blame on here, come on Glad2BeAPie you know that.

Joking aside, it should only ever be a minority within any squad so I doubt that scenario will happen. Very unlikely

Just highlights the fact that we should not even be trying to play football at our level at the present time.

I don’t blame anyone for not going into work if you are concerned about your health and that of your family.

It’s kicking a bag of wind around a pitch at the end of the day.

He’s simply showing those in charge (that’s the league not Ardley before laddo thinks it’s a dig) what leadership and common sense is.

If Wes Thomas feels the need to prioritise his family to the point he's no longer available for selection in the current climate, that's a decision we should respect. Whether or not Notts should be paying him for the privilege is another matter. If the club have no problem with it, there's not much to be said, but the fact they've decided to publicize the issue suggests there is a degree of frustration - If not from Ardley then perhaps the owners or the rest of the squad.

Not sure if there was frustration when NA discussed it in the press conference, but it’s good that we finally know what the situation with Wes is. The question was raised by a journalist, not NA.

I wonder how many players are in the same situation around the country - not heard of many cases where players are, in effect, refusing to play on health grounds. I suspect it’s only an issue at our level, since the EFL now tests more frequently (twice a week).

    Agreed.
I think all football should be halted.
Today Villa have said a significant number of players have tested positive. Derby going to play U23 and U19 in FA Cup.
Can't understand either why National N & S are going ahead. The message is supposed to be stay at home. Meanwhile clubs can travel 100 miles + to play behind closed doors.

In fairness to Ardley he is going to be asked when Thomas/Roberts are fit/back so he has to answer the question.

Its pretty obvious Notts/Govt are paying Thomas if we didn’t he could go to the press and the Danes won’t want bad PR.

If he has had kidney issues you can see why he would be concerned I know some on Twitter are saying he has already had Covid but a)How do we know you can’t catch it twice b)He might want to protect his family.

I have seen some saying he is on strike but he is not really is he ? The govt guidelines are stay at home if you are not front line or essential worker and as I said earlier it is tricky for all clubs to deal with if the NL had any leadership they would do the right thing.

If he wants to make that decision, and he probably has good reason such as didn't he have a new born recently there is surely no issue with it. However I don't see why he should be on full pay ESPECIALLY if it means we cannot afford to sign a replacement and decent strikers mid season are hard enough to come by as it is. And as said previously if everyone does it what then? You cannot have one rule for one and one rule for everyone else however Ardley still picks his favorites every week so I guess its no surprise ( see what I did there).

Horrible situation. What can you say when it's about the lives and well-being of a player and his family? Nothing
