    I recall us beating Sheffield United 1-0 in the County Cup Final in 1966. They had good crowds in those days.

    Why did they stop doing the Sheffield and Hallamshire Cup? It seems like it could be quite a fun pre-season tournament with some local honours at stake and a bit of excitement beyond meaningless friendlies.

    Took note - There are County Cup programmes on sale on e-bay,
    Rotherham United v Doncaster Rovers etc.

    Would add a bit of extra spice to pre season friendlies if this was revived - perhaps also include a few of the higher placed non-league teams in this also?

    I remember the Anglo-Italian cup. I think it was for second tier clubs. I think Blackpool won one of them. Also the brilliant pronunciation of the Italians. Cag-lie-arey. Bol-og-na. All in glorious black and white

    There was also the Yorkshire and Humberside cup,it was basically an early season type of thing…although never sure what the format was as can only remember a few games of it..
