Being of a certain age, going to away games in the seventies especially, was a scary day out (especially away to the OF). We would be lucky to have two coaches. Now, it amazes me to see how many Arabs attend away games. Changed days indeed. It has to be a huge boost for the players when they run onto the pitch and see the backing United fans are giving them. Long may it continue.

I remember traveling during that time. Glasgow was a dangerous place to go and the journey home could be just as bad. Shotts Blackford and Auchterarder were wild places at times with traveling fans of all teams coming together on their journey home. Great to see lots of younger fans as it looks good for the future, With the upcoming financial climate on its way maybe the club can look at making special matchday deals to help keep the fans attending.

I lived in Auchterarder for a while and used to get picked up by the United coaches on their way to games in the west of Scotland in the 70's. You are right Roma84, there used to be some skirmishes in that town. Used to be a great chip shop in Shotts

Every supporter at every game makes a difference

When 28k Arabs turned out in the final in 2010 it was magnificent. If the 22k who don’t usually attend went to just two home games a season it would bump our support up to 9k for every game, and give a good argument for always keeping the shed
