Our two performances so far this season against Port Vale were poor to say the least so I am hoping for third time lucky, if we continue with the tempo & momentum from last saturday then we should get something from the game hopefully 3 points , but it is important not to lose & a point would not be the end of the world.

Vale in very poor form with only 2 wins from 10 having drawn 2 and lost 6.
Form can thrown completely out of the window in this one with the poor quality pitch proving a big leveller.
Hoping for a scruffy win and expecting a long ball game and making use of the long throw tactics.

Defiantly talk on the Vale forum of the pitch being a real leveller so it doesn't sound good .

However they are missing their two main strikers and have done for a few weeks now and they haven't really played well without them according to one or two .

I reckon the lad Russell could start tomorrow night in place of possibly Philips with Norwood coming in for Watters .

Remember going there in the FA Cup late sixties their keeper Stuart Sharratt his name I believe had an absolute blinder and we had to take them back to Oakwell for replay.

More to the point, leaving on the coach that evening was another matter, our coach constantly bombarded with their manic mob of so-called supporters !! Never again did we go back.
