Romared Match Thoughts Port Vale v Barnsley

The first of another duo of back to back away games having just come off one set with the home game against Cambridge sandwiched in between .

Looks a tricky game does this against a Vale side we have yet to beat on two occasions already this season .

Vale are in one of the best of the rest bracket below the top 7 and are having a decent season following their promotion last season from league two .

However we've returned recently to the form we've showed for most of the season and go in to it full of confidence .

On paper it looks a nailed on draw but I suspect we are all going to be slightly disappointed if that happens .

I thought they were a decent side when we last played them so I’m expecting a tough game.
One goal could win the game.

Port Vale are on a poor run of form, drawn 2 and lost 4 in the last six games. Which possibly makes them more dangerous. I agree with Doggy that they looked a decent side when they played us. Not sure whether we have Watters available either? We're also at their ground. All this aside, we have to believe in ourselves at this stage of the season. Duff's a good manager and he'll have them prepared. A narrow victory for me because we still haven't got the prolific goalscorers. But we have to beat these teams if we're going to progress.

Vale in very poor form with only 2 wins from 10 having drawn 2 and lost 6.
Form can thrown completely out of the window in this one with the poor quality pitch proving a big leveller.
Hoping for a scruffy win and expecting a long ball game and making use of the long throw tactics.

    Nice touch Animal !

Yes Vale are struggling of late but it's if we can take our chances. If we do then I fancy a 2-1 reds win

Just looked at the full fixture list for tomorrow.

Could well be 3 points for all the teams above and hunting us down.

Good Luck Lads - 3 points please.

For all the top work Duff has done with the cards dealt by the owners, the season really starts at home to Derby.

We are in the middle of seven teams fighting for four Play Off spots. Ipswich, Bolton, Derby, Barnsley, Wycombe, Shrewsbury, Peterboro That is our league now. Late Feb and March--

    Derby H, Bristol Rov A , Portsmouth H, Plymouth H, Wycombe A, Wednesday H, Ipswich H, Exeter A

At least four points needed from "the likes of" Port Vale and Cheltenham this week.

Correct SB, 4pts min from the next 2 games. Then that run of 8 fixtures after wiv laiked Port Vale and Cheltenham will probably define our season. Should we pick up 10 points from those 8 difficult fixtures, which isn't a huge ask, would probably see us over the line to get in 6th oil. With Luke Thomas due back, among others, it will also give Duff a few more options and take the strain off our already stretched squad a wee bit.
