Wouldn't it be fanny if Albion beat Sheff on Wednesday giving us all hope again!! Surely it would be far better to dream than to keep having our expectations dashed at every opportunity

Players did put a shift in today, just not got the quality at the end of the day.

Regarding today’s performance, I think that some have been a little hash on certain players. I agree with Boingy that Townsend had a decent enough game and Ajeyi as well. I don’t think that Yokuslu was match fit and it would have probably made more sense for TGH to start with Yokuslu on the bench. I also thought Asante had a decent game. As a defence on the whole we did look somewhat vulnerable but again credit has to go to Sunderland. It’s all a matter of opinions though, some will agree with me, others won’t.
Agree with your post, sometimes you have to give the opposition credit our lack of a cutting edge is a problem at 1-1 it would have been great to be able to bring on players that were able to give us more options up front, Okay should have been taken off earlier and Wallace was really poor but if you don't have faith in your bench your not going to make those changes.

I thought we played OK and could fault the players for effort. If there was one player I expected more from it was Wallace …. Thought he was pretty anonymous in probably the biggest game of the season. Was also surprised we had no urgency at 1-1 and had settled for a draw which only invited Sunderland on. Sunderland’s second goal was class - got to say.

Still there’s hope - beat Sheff Utd …. However unlikely… and it’s back on … lose and then it is game over

It’s a poor league, we’ve got a fairly average side, who have over performed at times, when the pressure is on our failings in the transfer market are highlighted to a frightening degree, we have no pace, no guile and worse of all no strikers of any note, put all of this together and winning the playoffs is miles out of our reach.
The blame lies with the turd in China and our so called recruitment department, to not have one decent forward since JRod and Gayle is criminal.

Totally agree Bomber! Asante was a bargain compared to the lump of lard but he will never get a good goal ratio like a Mitrovic who got Fulham promoted. Too many very average championship players in the team!

Championship very poor this year except for Burnley!

Don’t get me started on Darren Moore who has bottled it again this year with Wednesday as now looking likely the play offs for them. Under Moore we had an unbelievable team compared with these bottlers with included - Dawson - Hegazi - Gibbs - Holgate - Harvey Barnes - Jay Rod - Gayle to name but a few! How that team did not walk that league I will never know. Dawson and Holgate still going strong and good Premier players!

I don't think we've bottled it, I just think we're not very good and we don't have the quality.

Its more frustrating because this league isn't brilliant.

But I don't know what people expect, especially when you look at our bench. The only striker we had available to bring on - his last senior football appearance was against Blyth Spartans.

I'm happy we've restored a bit of pride in this season, because there was one point where I was genuinely fearful of relegation.

Totally agree 123. We just lack quality in key positions which is such a shame because this is not a good year in the Championship. That is proven by so many teams fighting for those last two play off positions. Next season may be more more difficult looking at the calibre of teams trying to avoid relegation from the Premiership.
