    Bottled It!

Pathetic defending!! Not enough big players turning up - Wallace - Swift and Okay!

Townsend usual pub player with two misses

To be fair Sunderland played the better football with the ball!

Season over as we were lucky at Blackpool so won’t get a result at Sheffield!

Too many bottle jobs! Carlos should never have started Okay as looked rusty! Why did Bartley not start as that first goal was criminal with the space for a free header!

Too much expected from a limited squad with very little cutting edge, very good at passing sideways and backwards though.
Lot of blame on Corberran as well, subs 15 mins too late, Yokuslu obviously not fit and should have been replaced at half time, Sunderland played well, they bring Roberts, we bring on Faal, says it all.
We haven’t had a decent forward since JRod and Gayle, you won’t get much success without players like them

Okay played well for me and I saw a lot of real effort and I’m sure they’re all gutted. Townsend played well too, missed a chance but did a lot besides that. It just wasn’t our day. The ball ran for Sunderland today even those 6 blocked shots in the box. It happens. It’s very disappointing. But that’s football. At least if we don’t make the play offs we don’t have to suffer losing a final. We all know we’re not good enough for the Prem anyway and Lai won’t invest.

I love Okay but worst player on the pitch today as looked two yards too slow and no energy. Townsend missed two headers I could have done better with - he’s a shocking player!

Blackpool could have beaten us to be fair and Sunderland played the ball better. We missed those blocked chances for the simple reason - we are not quicker enough with the ball. Sunderland were much quicker and comfortable!

The ball ran for Sunderland because they ran for the ball. Our build up is far too pedestrian.

If we are realistic about this season, the reason why we are unlikely to make the play-offs is the appalling start that we had. When Corberon took over we were twenty third and facing relegation. If we’d have had even a moderate start we would have comfortably made the play-offs. Yes, we should have done better today but we didn’t and all credit to Sunderland.

Regarding today’s performance, I think that some have been a little hash on certain players. I agree with Boingy that Townsend had a decent enough game and Ajeyi as well. I don’t think that Yokuslu was match fit and it would have probably made more sense for TGH to start with Yokuslu on the bench. I also thought Asante had a decent game. As a defence on the whole we did look somewhat vulnerable but again credit has to go to Sunderland. It’s all a matter of opinions though, some will agree with me, others won’t.

A relief in a way. We wouldn't have won the play offs with this squad and it would have been 2007 all over again.
This team isn't as quarter as good as the one's by Megson, Mowbray and Di Matteo.
I don't think we will be any worse off in the long run. Lai wouldn't have spent and would have pocketed the prem money to support another of his failing businesses.
We need to get rid of all the deadwood and start from scratch. Get in a good talent spotter who will bring in young and hungry kids.
I think it would be more fun than watching these underperforming clowns.

All I saw from Okay today was that no Sunderland players could get the ball off him and he was very strong. Tons better than Chalobah. Townsend ran his socks off.

We do look pedestrian and we do lack pace in the squad altogether.
