The 'tackle' on Saturday was ridiculous yet the ref didn't even give a free kick

In real life at the time it seemed like a free kick and probable yellow card. I’ve not seen it back.

Another one where at the time along with other officiating decisions in the game it was frustrating.

I didn’t like seeing JJ limping around the pitch either it reminded me of when Scott was injured and carried on and we didn’t see him for the rest of last season. Then he had to limp all the way around the stands as well.

I guess all we can do is prepare for the worst and hope for the best and that JJ is back soon.

The truth is that it may have been Gillingham who were successful in potentially wrecking his season but they were by far the first team to try it.

It’s clearly frustrating that teams have targeted him, but that’s nothing new, neither for Jones nor the best players at whatever level. Evidently it not being new is not an acceptable reason for it to happen. But I also don’t think teams and players go out to deliberately hurt opposition players either.

I think further outrage probably stems from the fact we are predominantly a possession based team now and probably don’t have to make as many tackles, so the likelihood of us targeting a flair player is slightly lessened.

But I also don’t think we’d be saints should a similar position arise. It happens. It’s annoying as f*ck it may have happened to Jones. Big, big miss.

Clearly referees have a responsibility to manage games effectively too and protect the safety of all players.

I’d also like to state right now, that us not having a like-for-like replacement of the quality of Jones is NOT a sign of poor recruitment or a sign of a thin squad.

Hmm, whilst I'm sure Austin and Gordon amongst others could do a job there we don't have another natural winger at the club do we? Let alone one of Jones' quality.

The defender played the ball and then completely followed through and practically broke his leg. Should go to prison never mind have been carded. Personally I'm worried as so much of our attack comes through Jodi - I really hope I am wrong but me for it seems a massive deal to have him out!
