I think Farke is grateful that Guilavogui understands his dual role, offering guidance and mentorship to Leeds' younger players off the pitch whilst doubling as insurance at centre-half and in central midfield....... also Farke has commended the fact Guilavogui appears to be a polyglot, listing 4 languages that the ex-VfL Wolfsburg man speaks which can be most useful within our squad currently now going into some crunch games........ with a points haul needed to cement our marker and keep the momentum into securing a top 2 placement before Christmas. The Leeds dressing room rule is that only English must be spoken...... but in the heat of the moment having such an experienced multilingual player will be a most useful edition in speaking French, German, Spanish and English.

He comes in part way through the first half of the season, never played in any English league never mind Leeds in the Championship, and you (and/or Farke) expect him to acclimatise to the new surroundings, new tactics and the "competitive" nature of the Championship, AND "mentor younger players whilst using his linguistic skills to ensure effective communication when the pressure is on?

This from a guy who came on a free, unable to command a place by right in any other club. Good luck with that one.

Excellent point. I have wondered about this very fact that there are many players with different levels of ability to speak English and how to communicate a message to them. So having someone who can easily translate is always helpful. Not sure he will be particularly helpful for Ao Tanaka though.

Ao Tanaka speaks decent German and English very well......... to his credit.
Quite hard for Japanese students to learn English due to differences in grammar, syntax, pronunciation and word order......they are really troubled distinguishing between "l" and "r" during pronunciation...... and the way these sounds are connected in the rhythm and the stress on words within sentences though........ glad to see he does his talking with his boot skills on the pitch effectively, Cherry......😊

If we want to trade being pedantic tw4ts, his FULL name is Josuha Jérémy Akoi Fara Guilavogui. Whatever, my observations/comments regarding the player stand and if I'm wrong, I'll say so. I wonder if you would undertake to do the same if the gamble on a player unproven in the English game fails to pay off?

    FWIW

I think it’s a smart move. Senior leadership is worth the cost alone much less insurance for mid field
