We’re in far from a tragic situation but of course some Baggies fans could turn being Premier league champions into a negative. I suppose if you are a glass half empty person maybe there’s no way out of that mindset. It must be terminal.
I would say I'm pretty optimistic, but this is me analysing our recent performances. And I'm also more than happy with Corberan, but he's not immune to criticism or fans like me pointing out areas where we think he can improve the team and as a manager.

He can be rigid and a bit stubborn with his team setup and substitutions. I think we can be one dimensional when we go forward, if a team comes to us to sit back we struggle to break them down. I'd also like us to be a touch more direct, particularly when we win a free kick which we can put into the box or if in the final 10 mins we're chasing a goal. I'd like to see us try something different if after 80 mins of the same formation and style of play hasn't worked - to try something else. I don't think this is being negative, I think these are fair points to make.

I get what you’re saying but the times players have had a chance to shoot but didn’t do you think that was Corberans directive? I don’t. He looks quite frustrated at times on the bench at times during matches. It’s different when we have momentum as in earlier in the season, (things often change after an international break, momentum can stop) Your concerns are valid as are everyone else’s but I think it’s just how this game we love goes. I’m sure Carlos and his trainers sweat over these things 24/7. I will always trust that they have more idea than we do.

Your last sentence is definitely the case.

But I do think they are directed by the management team to play free kicks short. Whereas I think any free kick we win in the other teams half, particularly in the final third should be put into the box. I'd also like to know what they've been told to do on corners, as I say the last game there didn't seem to be much joined up thinking - even to the extent as to who the corner taker was. I can't remember the last time we scored from a corner - any ideas?

Anyway, the subject was 'frustrating watch' and I think that's true. I'm just seeing some concerning signs from an attacking perspective. I've heard others say we look better going forward when we play teams who come out at us and we've got a tough run of games coming up - so maybe that will help that side of things. Win tonight and everything feels good again.

While Carlos has done superbly since arriving at the Hawthorns I do feel that we now need a different mind set. We need to be far more positive in our approach. We are far too pedestrian and slow in our build up play. Sides have certainly worked us out and, especially at the Hawthorns, know exactly how to play against us.

In my humble opinion we need to make sides worry about us. We do have the players to cause sides real problems. The likes of Fellows,
Johnston, Grant, Diangana are more than capable of taken defenders on and beating them but we have to get the ball to them far more quickly.

In the previous half a dozen matches or so I’ve been thinking that it’ll be better today but unfortunately it hasn’t. Come on Carlos, let’s get at ‘em!

Absolutely. We do well against teams that don’t shut up shop. Long old season.
