    Interestingly Scott Parker is still at Burnley. He puts out teams with the same formations every week, fingers crossed that something might happen. Farke to his credit, made a decisive change. Leeds are definitely playing better now, apart from the bad loss to Le Arse.

    Why? Think Farke is growing and learning on the job. I believe that scum had a scottish guy with as large red beak that also "learned" on the job. That worked out pretty well for them and Arteta was no great shakes his first couple of years.

    It's also interesting to note that we are 18th in payroll? We have been playing above our weight since the Citeh game.

    If that ?why?? was in response to my query regarding LUFC possibly being interested in Franke;

    Simple, he?s a better coach/manager than Farke, and all the evidence points to that being so.

    He took Brentford from Championship to PL in 2021 (AND KEPT THEM THERE), whilst creating a (small) squad that he could hand to his successor if/when he left Brentford. He isn?t a ?yo-yo? merchant, which Farke shows all the indications of being.

    His time at Brentford showed he can create/manage a small squad playing attractive attacking football for a well-run club but one which has limitations in terms of its small ground (capacity 17.5k) and access to investments funds (although the majority shareholder (Matthew Benham) has, like the 49-ers Enterprises at Leeds, sought to widen his investment sources recently).

    Franke recognised that Brentford ?are a selling club?, when asked about selling the likes of Wissa ?for the right price?. Brentford regularly made a profit from player sales whilst Frank was head coach, unlike virtually the whole history of LUFC activity in the transfer market (so not all losses are down to Farke!).

    I suspect if asked a direct question he would admit to having made a mistake taking the Spurs job. Hubris, financial gain, whatever prompted him to leave a club he was very successful at, who knows. He might relish the opportunity of coming to LUFC and making a real impact?

    And lastly, since when do we have the luxury of being able to afford the time for a head coach for ?growing and learning on the job?? (and hasn?t he had plenty of previous opportunities to do so?

    I think you are underselling our potential.

    We are not a selling club forever. Brentford is. If all of the 49?s plans come to pass we?ll be a buying club with a sold out big capacity stadium. At some point we?ll be able to ignore the financial rules like Arsenal, Citeh, Scum and Chelsea do. PSR seems to only apply to newly promoted clubs

    Frank was clueless how to handle the pressure of a big club. He will season over time but he?s not anymore prepared to handle Leeds than Farke is and Farke has them playing well. Franks player selling and buying was woeful.

    I never suggested that LUFC would be, now or any time soon, a "selling club", simply that as a head coach for a club that was (and still is to a large extent), Frank could cope with the additional pressures in creating and maintaining a successful squad. The club (as opposed to the head coach), has made profits every year he was there, we haven't been quite so successful.

    Most commentators (with or without Spurs affiliations), would suggest there are internal, systemic and long standing issues that make management there VERY difficult. Frank encountered them, as have others.

    Farke hasn't kept a club in the PL for more than a season following promotion, Frank has (and.under considerably more challenging circumstances).

    Not underselling anything, just realistic about what can do with Farke as coach and what we could do if he is replaced by Frank.

    Agreed that spurs are a hot mess with serious issues. Money had hide a lot of defects but even that fails after a while. Frank was very, very good at Brentford but they have a tremendous back office that seems to just keep finding gems. The replacement coach has continued this success so I really think it's more a matter of not screwing up what they are given rather than coaching brilliance.

    Farke has done a good job. I'm very bothered by Gnonto, Piroe and Tanaka but he has been pretty effective at matching up against teams (with notalble exception of Arsenal).

    I'm very glad we have a stable coach situation at this time. The wheels are coming off at Forest, Glasner is not happy at Palace and it's a train wreck at spurs. We are sitting in a pretty decent place.
