It's changed but I don't think it is much worse than all the hundreds of games I have seen at this level over the years. Not many /any teams at this level will play well for 90 minutes and you know that. I'm extremely pleased with all aspects of our progress as a club since the Bros arrived on and off the field.

League 2 has always been described as a poor league with very few exceptions. You get the odd team that is heavily backed financially and that?s it. This season there isn?t a team that?s hugely backed, in fact, yes there is, MK Dons. Look where they are. The other thing is this league really isn?t that bad? have you really forgotten the NL already?
This is our second season back in the EFL and yet some are still not happy with things.
We are a work in a progress, on and off the pitch. I?d like us to get promoted of course I would, but I?m also satisfied that the club is progressing and if we do miss out this time, then I?d expect another tilt at it next season.
This is the most stable the club has been for decades IMO. Probably since the Pavis days.

The extra man in midfield did for us.
Unfortunately it was obvious to everyone in the ground we needed another man in there. Given Edwards was on the bench I'd have put him in alongside Palmer and allowed Abbot to play slightly further forward.

To wait until 70 minutes to make a change - Maynard is far to slow to react when we're under pressure - invited to goal to come. Even then neither of his substitutions addressed the obvious weakness in midfield.

We created enough chances both halves of football to win the match with goals to spare, so how does changing the coach make Jatta and McGoldrick stick them away 🤔

I would say both goals conceded were down to defensive mistakes and Bass would have saved at least one

I thought we were decent in the first half and as has been the case many times this season we could not capitalise on our dominance and needed to go in a goal up at least at half time. Second half the intensity dropped a bit and we did go into ourselves a bit as Chesterfield took more control. But again we had our chances. Didzy and Jatta are the main goalscorers and we could do with someone else scoring regularly goals when they don?t so they don?t have to carry all the responsibility.

It?s clear there is will be a section of the fan base that do not accept SM and never will and every defeat its a catastrophe and the club is doomed which they are entitled to their opinions. I do think we are missing something that extra piece of ruthlessness to kill teams off so to speak, but we really do need to get behind SM and the team for the remaining nine games and be the 12th man especially when the outcome of this season is still an unknown and conjecture as to how it will transpire.

Since the start of the season it?s been said there are no stand out candidates in this division and half the teams are candidates for promotion and this has come to fruition.

Despite losing we are still only two points off automatic which just shows the title, automatics and playoffs are their for the taking for a team that can have a five or six game winning run. We just have to hope we can be that team.

The team to watch Colchester recently under the Cowleys have now entered the playoff mix and are now top of the form guide in the last six.

One thing is for sure we are going to get put through the mill regardless in the last nine games and that would be typical Notts.

A game where if we take even half our chances that we should we win. We don?t and they capitalise. Same at home against Port Vale, Walsall, Gillingham.

By far the better team in the first half and first 15 of the second, then the inevitable fade, SM takes no action and they get the goal.

We get back in it but fade again.

Too many times at home this season for us to get in the top three.

I agree, it has that feel of the Munto season. With a fully fit squad we should be flying in this league but held back by an inexperienced manager. We hovered around 8th with McParland who was a useless manager and absolutely romped to the top under Cotterill. Don't get me wrong I like Maynard but he's not the man to get us consistancy in results if we're serious about climbing the leagues.

Well, he lost two assistant coaches eh, if he gets an assistant head coach who is better at the man management / charisma / motivation, whatever you want to call it, that could be a good pairing.

Tactically he can't change anything in the 2nd half to prevent the opponents getting the upper hand he just waits till we concede
We were on top first half and Cook changed his formation to try and counter it Maynard either didn't notice or just thought we would continue to be dominant .
It's no good just bemoaning our chances that go begging he has to do something about it.
