    Slocombe had a ropey pre-season and has carried that into the proper stuff. At fault for both goals we’ve conceded really, otherwise we’ve looked surprisingly sound defensively.

    He has more than enough credit in the bank from two solid seasons for us not to be panicking about him after three games, though.

    IMO he has not been the same since he was sent off last season.

    After reflecting on the first three games I am strangely happier with 5 points than the 6 points we would have if we had beaten Torquay but lost to Wrexham. I prefer that we have stayed unbeaten as that builds confidence and team spirit. It is also a boost that we played well against one of the favourites for promotion.
