Feel a bit sorry for Jaros. Sounded like his best Notts game so far and he's lost and let 3 in!

Did they lose to Barnet with Rusk or this manager ?

They did get off to a poor start considering like Wrexham.

Sorry Swale, it's now my turn to hold you to that, that simply is not good enough, these are well paid professionals and tonight has been a disgraceful performance. Tonight's commentator us making so many excuses be must be in the pocket of Owners or Burch.

Are you saying they actually weren't ill or injured?

Yes indeed. Maximum sympathy goes out to the long-suffering Notts fans at Stockport tonight.

I think it's safe to say we can forget the playoffs - which would be a waste of time anyway, since we are simply not good enough to be contenders.

The problems have been there all season it’s not a one off, there has been some ‘lucky’ results, poor recruitment and poor tactics for this league, ultimately Burchnall and the owners have to take responsibility for this naive approach.

This^^^ A poor management/coach appointment and p1ss poor player recruitment (for this league) have kicked us up the arris yet again.

I get the philosophy and principle of what we are trying to achieve and the style of football that we want to play, but what we need to do is win the individual battles first and earn our right to play our game.

Nearly three seasons at this level tells us that you need to have some spoilers and be able to mix it up certainly when playing away from home. We don't know how to win ugly because we don't have the spoilers like the Bishops or Ravenhills. Mo Ross said it a year ago that we needed "animals". He was right then and he's right now.

When we got promoted with Allardyce in 98 and Munto in 2010 we had the right mix of creativity, quality, and robustness and no-nonsense players with a strong solid keeper. We don't have the robustness and no-nonsense element especially that's required at this level.

I still think we need a Thomas or Dennis because as I keep saying when Wootton does not score Notts struggle to win games.

    Fair summary.

I actually think most of the players we've recruited in the past two years have been good ones, but the problem is the players we haven't signed. We never really have replaced Thomas or Dennis, and yes, we need two or three defensive and midfield 'enforcers' - ideally of sizeable physical stature like Cameron - who will stand up to the physical battle and intensity you get in this league (and the one above, for that matter).

As you say, if those kind of players win their individual battles, then the more gifted players like Rodrigues, Roberts, Sam and Nemane can then show their skills, but at the moment we're a soft touch, mentally and physically. The question is, can IB recognise this and adapt his tactics and preferred playing style to suit, or is he going to go the same way as Keith Curle?
