No press conference on a Friday because the Scottish Parliament does not operate on a Friday. MSPs need a long weekend.
Those daily covid briefs are one of the most annoying things about this whole thing for me, they should have stopped months ago when it became clear we were not in the emergency situation with hundreds of thousands dying that was predicted. Not sure if it's every one but at least one day I saw it was live on BBC1, BBC2 and BBC Scotland channel simultaneously. Why? I personally don't pay a TV license to watch Nicola Sturgeon spout her total pish about what is now no worse than the annual flu outbreak.

Journalism is really poor in this country.

Couple of notable exceptions but in general it's kak.

Back on topic I noticed that the dentist was disappointed that so many people had turned up to an anti covid demonstration yesterday ,he said do these people think that 194 countries are making up the virus is real .....ffs man talk about missing the point by a mile ,they’re not disputing the virus exists well the majority don’t ,it’s whether this virus should still be referred to as deadly when it clearly isn’t ,over 400 die daily in the UK with cancer or related but I can still buy cigs/bevvy and live in McD’s if I choose too....

This is exactly my point but because they have started down this route it's almost impossible for them to do a u turn.....but they should

    They are kinda stuck.

They can't declare they have beaten the virus as quite simply they can't.

They have to continually peddle the line of how dangerous it is.

Bcram mentioned finding a middle ground and being able to walk away and save face like Scargill.....best solution...... but I don't think they will.

Nippy and Leith should be explaining how despite people in Scotland being forced to wear a mask in public places and in shops the number of confirmed positive cases of Covid-19 is continually rising.
In my opinion wearing a mask is not going to make any difference. The virus will just have to run its course
Nippy should end her daily press conferences and the BBC should stop putting out Jason’s public broadcasts announcements.
As usual the management of Argyll and Bute Council are slow to get things done.
Last weekend information signs appeared at the entrance to every village on Islay advising people to take care during this pandemic.
However the main tourist season for what it has been worth finished last weekend at the same time as the council were erecting these signs.
News travels slower the further west you are in Scotland.

I think that Nicola should continue with her daily updates. I don't listen to them, never have, so what harm to they do?

    Not good for democracy.

Even the press refer to her as "Nicola"....hogging the tv repeating the same things over and over again brainwashing the people.

Overreaction? Maybe but it's how I see it, North Korean like Scottish press ....the day will come when Nicola will just be referred to as leader.
