SM was being diplomatic. I wouldn't draw any conclusions.

No. An investment isn't a capital loss and selling a player isn't a capital gain and even the profit would be offset by brought forward losses. Tax doesn't have a role to play here apart from the normal transfer tax, VAT etc. costs.

Macca, big blow and his careers is now in reverse but again time was running out for us, however Jatta is a step too far though and the " model " simply won't be able to replace him in time to push for promotion. So no please no
I really like it when this comes up: how big a club are we and how big a club can we actually be? And what even makes a big club.

Im 35. I have only ever seen us play as high as L1 and we never really bothered the top end of it. Personally, I see us as a club who could bother the top end of L1.

On Jatta specifically, there is zero chance we sell without a replacement. I guarantee there is a list, probably five deep, to replace him and that list will continually be in motion too.

A bit concerning if they are interested. Notts may have been taken by surprise in the interst reported &, have no potential replacement lined up. If they come in they may just rebuff any offer unless absolutely mental

I can't imagine it will have taken them by surprise, if it's true. I'm sure the forward planning is there and they will have plans for different scenarios. We might not have a potential replacement ready to sign on the dotted line, but surely they will have names, background work already done etc., not just for now but for the end of the season too.

The problem is quite a few including Jatta who some think was ML replacement weren't ready for the 1st team, even when the club has done it's homework

Bought for 1 Mill and sold for reported 5 Mill. and we think we're doing well with Jattas perhaps profit.

IF he goes it's too late for us to get a like-for-like replacement that will come in up and running or won't cost what we get for AJ. We may well have done homework but I wouldn't think there are many good, match fit, strikers sitting in their front room waiting for Notts County to ring. May well not happen though.

A similar ratio though, if the purported GBP750k is accurate.
