He has never said that at all, he said he would not give up the fight to get us out of the EU not that he would call for another referendum.

"Confidence among Europe’s steelmakers has been displayed by a string of investments, such as Voestalpine’s decision to build western Europe’s first specialist steelworks since at least the 1980s at a cost of up to €300m.

A helping hand in the industry’s turnround has come from the EU. Brussels has slapped tariffs on various forms of steel from outside the bloc judged to be dumped — meaning sold below home market prices or the costs of production — or illegally subsidised.

"Our 2018 outlook for the steel sector in Europe is stable on the back of expected growth in steel demand from the construction and auto industries,” says Gianmarco Migliavacca, senior credit officer at the rating agency. Mr Shillaker adds: “The global supply/demand balance is healthy with demand strong and constrained output keeping steel spreads high."

    And most importantly.

"A final piece in the puzzle will be the outcome of long-awaited merger and acquisition deals in the European steel industry.

The theory is that fewer players in the market would result in more constrained supply, anchoring prices and so making imports less attractive for buyers."
Not sure how this supports your argument for us to leave the EU to trade under wto regs. EU steel is doing well in part due to tariffs on China imports. EU protectionism mean there will almost certainly be duty on our exports into the EU. We will find ourselves in the global market up against China with one hand tied behind our back.

Note that you say EU steel is doing well
Think you should tell that to those involved with Port Talbot All 3000 directly & 20000 indirectly
I'm sure they'll be really chuffed for EU steel

Because the steel industry in the UK as a whole is NOT run by the UK. Tata steel is in fact an Indian company and trades to the EU via WTO rules. The article states that the Steel industry in the EU is growing because they are amalgamating steel companies under one banner and in doing so will stop imports altogether. This effectively kills off Tata steel as a trading partner inside the EU. In other words the EU has stuck 2 fingers up to the British people who work for Tata steel. Hardly a fair shake of the stick to us is it? Again the EU are killing this country slowly but surely and doing it in our own back yard.

Wake up to the fact that the EU wants everything run for the benefit of only the selected few it feels are worthy and we are not on that list.

Go and do some research on British companies that have gone to the wall only to be replaced by EU run businesses from the big hitters inside the EU I am sure you will then be as mad at the EU as I am for killing this countries once great standing throughout the world.

Are you longing for the high environmental standards of the old Warsaw Pact countries, Roly? The mess they left behind is still being cleaned up. Have you been watching Chernobyl?

Not seen it Kerr but you can't mess about with stuff like that without proper environmental safeguards where ever they are.Nuclear energy has a lot going for it environmentally but dealing with the waste products needs proper care.Mind you some might argue plastic waste poses just as serious threat to us all. It is shocking the amount of plastic waste their is even from people who do try to recycle etc.

Or perhaps you might like to reflect on BSE [Mad cow disease] inflicted upon us by our wonderful Min of Ag as I believe it was referred to back in the day & our top notch farming industry feeding cattle what they should not have been feeding them heavily supported by the EU no less so get off your high horse

I think, by the way, we will have to honour the referendum result. Maybe we do need to jump in the swimming pool without our water wings. I'm just not sure we will climb out again spluttering and coughing on the side or even if we do we will be better off.
