It says a lot for what we've become over the past 4 years that people have taken this guy's name seriously. I'd still not be that shocked if it turned out to be true.

    Neither would I.

P:S, Apparently my man in the know, says it is a wind-up, (by a notts fan). How do you get him to feature in bookies odds unless you waste your hard earned on a stupid joke??

You can just ask them to price up whoever you want.

Out of the names mentioned I'd prefer Williamson out of anyone.

Gateshead are a big club for that league and he did what was required. If he can get Notts at least battling for the title next year - it'll be an improvement. Not sure he'd actually leave though, sure he's got a bit of leeway at Gateshead early in his managerial career - he certainly wouldn't have here.

OK, so they make some one else waste their hard earned on a stupid joke, well done to them. Me, I love a good ruse but that one's pish poor, IMHAHO.

For me it's better to wait for an actual club announcement before getting upset, disappointed, angry, happy at any of the suggested possibilities by a bookmaker, Twitter, or John down the local pub.

It's fun to have a guess and speculate but all to be taken with a pinch of salt. I remember before IB was appointed from out of nowhere, the names on the bookies lists were fully reviewed and critically analysed by Notts fans.

If a hoax then it wouldn't cost him any money. Just let word of mouth, rumour and innuendo do all the work for you.

Either way some people are getting themselves a little down in dumps at many of the potential candidates. Won't be long before you will read the classic "I'm not going to games with {insert manager's name} in charge"

Nah, surely you'd have to get the ball rolling with a bet or 2?

I'd imagine someone would have to request a price for someone not on the list? Can't imagine the bookies have a team of staff scouring social media for Notts County manager suggestions.

She's very popular in the hood.
