O/T:- Ukraine [Incorporating 'Congrats to Russia' thread]

Interesting development with the talk of the Polish giving Ukraine their SU-29s (I think) to enforce a no fly zone in exchange for the USA to replace them with F16s. I can see Poland getting dragged into this if that happens.

You’re assuming Putin is a rational actor. The Russians are having a bad war in the north, by the sounds of it, so they will do what they have always done and just obliterate the key cities from the air. If the war then extends further west into a NATO country, does anyone really believe Putin wouldn’t blow the whole world up? MAD only works if one of the nuclear players isn’t actually mad.

Much of that depends on what his generals do, Putin might be mad but would they want a nuclear war knowing full well it would sign their own death warrants?
