Russia wouldn’t dare have a pop at Poland. They know the consequences. The same for a no fly zone being enforced by NATO.
Ukraine need planes to defend themselves.

You’re assuming Putin is a rational actor. The Russians are having a bad war in the north, by the sounds of it, so they will do what they have always done and just obliterate the key cities from the air. If the war then extends further west into a NATO country, does anyone really believe Putin wouldn’t blow the whole world up? MAD only works if one of the nuclear players isn’t actually mad.

Much of that depends on what his generals do, Putin might be mad but would they want a nuclear war knowing full well it would sign their own death warrants?

Apparently Putins Army Commanders were on the dog n bone to Western leaders when he made the comment about putting his Nuclear powers on standby saying. no we won't be using them.
Hearing that there is a lot of unrest in his camp listening to people being interviewed. I'd say the media not making big headlines about it for a reason.

It’s really hard to work out why the Johnson government is being so soft on Abramovich et al.

The Tories are up to their necks in Russian money. Traitors.

At the very least, their judgement is awful. But I fear you may be right.

... ...I really hope all you international liberal elite socialist fascists are happy with the state of play in which we now find ourselves. At the fall of the Berlin Wall you imagined that we would all live happily ever after and, led by the 4th Reich towards ever closer union, you got into bed with the devil imagining your superior intellect could solve any problems, never contemplating the actions of a mad man would upset your cosy international coitus.
Since the Harold Wilson era you fermented the deadly role of the enemy within as you imagined your lefty mates would deliver your Shangri La (whatever that may be), through the unions, hijacking education, the NHS and the Civil Service until we are a feeble representation of democracy. Today we have career MP's who know sweet f a about real life, guided by special advisors and researches just out of school ... it's democracy collapsing.
History, as ever, shows us that it has always been the case that if you want peace you need to be strong enough by preparing for war. The clearly corrupt Conservatives are party to this shambles. Without wishing it to happen, I'm afraid we need WW3 in order to clear out all the bull-hitting chancers and, funnily enough, real leaders will emerge enabling us to reset the way we live, even though democracies are imperfect; it would be better than governed by VP & co; or AH, or JS if you wish ...

What people don't see is the fact Putin is dictating to the West, but no one will admit it!!

Kin ell Hoss I thought you said we needed Brexit to drain the swamp, now we’ve upgraded to World War 3!

The world might be a pile of smouldering ruins, but at least we’ll have fewer pen pushing bureaucrats.
