That's going to be key this season bringing that 86 goals down by a good 30 or more which will offset the loss of Macca's 28 goals.

Besides I believe Jatta and Scott are capable of scoring 20 goals between them. 13 for Jatta and 7 for Scott I don't think is too high an expectation either. As long as McGoldrick, JJ and Crowley and the new midfielders contribute similar amounts of goals to the players that were here last season we will be fine.
I think Jatta will get 20+ on his own.

He'll have to do it on his own if he's left as isolated as he was yesterday!

I'd mostly agree with that but with a healthy caveat.

When he sees that someone is likely to be in a position to put in a cross, and it will be from deep(ish) rather than bye-line, he just needs to do himself a favour and drift towards the far post. That way he can react better to the flight of the cross - quite a few times he was in the centre and ended up chasing the (overhit) ball (in flight) towards the far post. Macca wasn't brilliant in the air but he was brilliant at giving himself options, and Jatta needs to do that.
Having said all of that I think he will be a cracking signing judging on what we have seen last season and a little bit of this.

I’m not going to disagree with you on that one as I think the potential is there. Two goals in three games and a similar one goal in two games last season. So my estimate was a conservative guess to try and prove a point.

It’s also why I feel some people are worrying too much about the loss of Macca’s 28 goals and wanting the club to bring in a replacement. He’s already here it’s Jatta the way I see it.

The only caveat is if Jatta remains fit. But it would have been the same last season Macca could have got injured at any point. We were lucky he played for two seasons without any real issues. A league two club is not going to bring in a 15-20 goal a season striker to sit on the bench just in case either and if we only play one up top then where does the second striker play? Left Mid, Right Mid, CAM? I would say perhaps we may bring cover in as in a different kind of option up top especially with Morais leaving. A young fast paced youth on loan from a premier league or championship team.

I’ve watched the Fleetwood game and I think Nick Tsaroulla is one who showed he has the potential to be exciting like JJ and Crowley and get some assists and goals this season. Those three behind Jatta could be quite a force.

What happened to us not being a selling club anymore???

Both Crowley and JJ are under contract and if we're serious about promotion this season we need then both. Selling either of them is pure promotion suicide in my eyes. JJ I think will see out his contract, Crowley may go for the extra £££ in his pocket though. We seem more obsessed with balancing the books than gaining promotion!!

I don't recall anyone saying we're not a selling club anymore, and if they did, they were talking rubbish. Practically every football league club is a selling club if the right offer comes in. I think what the owners did say is that they would only sell a player if they consider the price to be right, and I'm sure the amount of time remaining on a player's contact is a factor in determining that price. Many clubs won't pay over the odds for a player they could get for free in a year's time, but when the likes of MK Dons come into silly money then sometimes you get outlandish bids.

As for being more obsessed with balancing the books than gaining promotion, well, as this club knows from past experience, if you don't balance the books then matters on the field quickly become a sideshow. Balancing books isn't an option, it's a necessity.

Things are different in the EFL, surely you are aware of that and seen clubs have points deducted for none compliance of SCMP. That could be why Notts have cashed in. Like you, I have zero idea of the clubs finances. All I know is that I trust the bros to do what’s right for NCFC. IMO they haven’t put a foot wrong.
The thing with this Notts regime and I’m baffled that most haven’t cottoned on, is that transfers or rather possible transfers are rarely rumoured until they are done. We have no idea who we are targeting or why there are delays. Football transfers can be complex and not as simple as meeting a clubs valuation or players expected salary. How often do we hear from players that ‘they first heard of the clubs interest several weeks ago’?
For what it’s worth I don’t think Notts will sell JJ or Crowley unless either wants out, the way they both played Sunday tells me they are 100% with Notts.
