Likewise, if you scored seven batting points in the 2 games, that would be three and a half batting points brought forward.
That's as good an explanation as you can get. I know it's an unprecedented situation, but I doubt the ECB will ever use such a ridiculously convoluted system again. The upshot is that by winning the first two games (even though the table says we have played three) we have wiped out our handicap, and to use an infamous phrase 'our destiny is in our own hands'. Our last two games are against the two teams directly below us, so it's now ours to lose.

Not only did the ball slip through their fingers yesterday, but I fear so did the County Championship.

The 5th Test being called off hasn't done us any favours

I've been telling friends and family for about 2 years now that Emma will be an absolute star of world tennis thanks to some regular first hand inside information from someone in her team.

Although few if any expected her to be so impressive at Wimbledon this year and even moreso at the US open. Less than a year ago I was following her progress in a juniors tournament in Turkey which she won or reached the final. Fast forward and she's rightly the darling of English tennis (men's or women's) and she's going deep in the majors.

Plus she's a sports marketers/advertisers dream, the sponsors are going to be all over her if not already . I hope she can cope with her rapid rise to world fame in the tennis world.

Next year's Wimbledon should be even more fun than normal and I'll be there to witness. I highly recommend.

    As Elite's meter story shows.

Not like you to have been playing cricket Observer, who'd have thought it?!

    Hampshire all out for 178.

    Patterson-White takes a Michelle

Notts need exactly 250 to regain top spot

A tricky but not impossible target. It will be about mental toughness from the batsmen as much as anything else, and when that's the case we usually fall apart at the seams (no pun intended).

The T20 was ultimately very disappointing for the Outlaws, and the 50 over competition was a bit of a joke, although we did blood some very good, young prospects. The red ball game has been fantastic for Notts cricket and I cannot remember a season when so much young talent has been unearthed. Most unlike Notts, but great to see. Thanks for the explanation about the points.
