What I'm asking is, how good mas Paul McStay? Few guys on the bus were talking about him yesterday and they reckon he was one of the best midfielders of his generation. I only seen him at the end of his career, so can't really judge.

As an aside, this is the vid of the old Celtic Park again, if this doesn't get you going then nothing will.

Paul McStay was definitely one of the best, if not the best midfielders I have seen play in a Celtic jersey Danny.

He burst on to the scene as a youngster and he was something else at that time, he had everything and won a few leagues and cups in the early/mid 80's.

I was fortunate enough to meet Paul a few times, Pogue, and he was a genuinely nice man.

I was only a young chap, it was when Brady was manager, I didn't go to school one day, and headed down to Celtic Park with my new strip with my big cousin to see if I could get any signatures, and we met McStay coming out of Parkhead, and I asked him for his autograph. Once he had signed it, I asked him could he get John Collins signature as well, and he said he would if I went to school the next day.

So, true enough, he disappeared for 10 mins and came back with a strip full of autographs.

If I miss Celtic Park like that, and I had only been going there for a few years prior to it being knocked doon, God knows what guys of your generation must be like.

Some great footage of the old London Road there Danny. I love looking at the old photos etc. Criminal how a lot of the old communities were flattened and people scattered.

Back in they days, Barrafield was a no go zone, a genuinely scary place. I used to hate walking through there to get to the fitbaw.

Aye it was magic and under the floodlights at the old Celtic Park always seemed to be even more special...the night we beat Real Madrid 2-0 in The European Cup Quarter Final in 1980 was something else...maybe we will get a bit of terracing back which will be good for the younger fans.

I remember the night PSG humped us 3-0, walking down Millerston Street the glow of the lights seemed to light the whole sky, and you could hear Hail Hail all the way down.

That has always stayed with me.

Yeah, it always looked rough round that way with those 1950's tenements. Stamford Street etc.
