    FAO Pogue

Just watching this Raith game, and I can't help but remembering the League Cup final at ibrox and The Maestro's penalty miss. A shocking day, and as I was only a young chap, it hurt me deep. I was at the semi against Aberdeen where Brian O'Neill scored in extra time.

What I'm asking is, how good mas Paul McStay? Few guys on the bus were talking about him yesterday and they reckon he was one of the best midfielders of his generation. I only seen him at the end of his career, so can't really judge.

As an aside, this is the vid of the old Celtic Park again, if this doesn't get you going then nothing will.

Decent enough without being brilliant, lacked a hard edge.

Was he as good as Lambert, pwlp? The guys on my bus think he was far superior.

    Far,far better than Lambert,Danny..

Much more creative. I honestly feel he should have moved on but if he was happy at cellick thats his call.

My memories not brilliant, but better I reckon. Lambert had grit and a hard edge though, that's what I reckon he missed. Think of Strachan or Aitken, both had an edge that he didn't.

A guy likened his situation to that of Gerrard, itb, said he could have moved but his love of the club was too strong. Would that be a fair enough comparison?

He went and won the league with Leeds as well in his late 30s did he not?

I was meaning McStay in my post but Strachan was a stand out too.

He extended his playing career by eating porridge and bananas you know.
