We've had an excellent season, so many positives and we are likely to beat our best ever premier league points haul having equalled it so far. Plenty to build on for next season, just need to keep the group together.
Why does this Bobby fella keep flouncing, what a girl!?![]()

8th in the Premier League will do me this year as all I wanted was to improve on last season.
As long as we improve next season then it's all good.

**** off you boring skate c.unt
Has been a great season for Saints and we have achieved Premier League stability in our 2nd season back after a phenomenal rise from the bottom of League 1 with a punitive points deficit in August 2009.
We have achieved the best possible with the available resources and along the way played some inspiring football.
It will be interesting to see if there is the will to push on to even greater things in future. Would love it to be the case.
COYS.
I am not sure what our aspirations are now that we are in the Prem. Clearly we should be aiming for European games, winning the league and wining the FA Cup, however, after our as yet unexplained fielding of a junior team for the FA Cup, what were we aiming for this season other than survival? Nothing wrong with that as such, other than the well know issue that the good players are going to aim for more than we have achieved and arguably can achieve without spending the silly money required. So is the aim to stay in the prem to ensure the TV money keeps coming in, or do we really have expectations to reach the top?
My point about the lower leagues was that it felt like everyone had an equal chance more or less. Everyone had a crack at the JPT, and anyone could win the league and be promoted. I just don't see that with the Prem and hope I am wrong, but I dont see Saints breaking into the elite 4 or 5 teams that dominate the Prem financially and on the pitch.
For the record, I am an ex
I think you may have a slightly jaundiced view, watching the matches in Brazil via the internet. For those of us who've been going to the games, this has been a thoroughly enjoyable season with some great football, which prompted even that cynical pundit, Alan Hansen to say 'Southampton have been magnificent'. I'd hate to see us slide into the lower leagues, where the football served up is dross.
For those Saints fans between the ages of 20 and 65, the top flight is where we are used to seeing our team and long may that continue. There is a lot to look forward to.
We have a good chance next season of winning the FA Cup or League Cup and qualifying for Europe.
Just two seasons ago Liverpool finished 8th with 52 points.
And then they spent 100m on players in 2 years instead of selling off their stars to service 60m of debt.Originally Posted by OhWell
