Kempo, one of things I do when I'm not watching BBC4 or BBC2 is to study, in depth, subjects that interest me greatly.

One of my recent projects is learning the true history of Islam from the time of the war mongering Prophet (died 632) to the present day.

I won't trouble anyone with the details but suffice to say I am working on a world map of all the places that it's unsafe for a non Muslim or a pacific Muslim to be at any one time.

I intend to dedicate my world map to this site's N0.1 world traveller which of course is you. Almost certainly you have many holidays planned for the coming months and I, for one, thoroughly enjoy your 'internet postcards from abroad' as I like to call them.

The troublemakers on here (too many to mention) will no doubt scoff at and deride your missives from the safe haven of their Skegness chalets and Flamborough caravans.

But don't let this put you off as you have many fans on here (and I'm proud to call myself one of them as I was only saying recen

Thank you again for your support zilzal, something that I know is always there even though contrary to popular opinion, we don't always agree..Steve Evans to but one area.

I have great admiration for someone like yourself who can bin the rubbish that is popular TV and instead reads and studies a wide range of important subjects.

I feel some shame that I have spent all my adult life studying only one subject and am now making a vow to broaden my reading and leave Mrs K to watch Britain's Got Talent on her own.

After your post on here, I am going to try some of the minority TV stations, something that I have not done so far.

It remains a sadness to me that grown up debates are so difficult on here and a simple thread offering advice is used by the usual suspects simply to make personal and derogatory comments.

I have another trip to Thailand booked so will have no problems with Islamic extremism as Buddhism is the most gentle religion...I will be leaving a bottle of pop for th

You will have no problems with Islamic extremism in Thailand?! Facking hell, I think you should do some more research! Just Google "Muslims murdering in Thailand" or any similar sentence to see how utterly wrong you are. Of course, they don't report these things in the Guardian or the BBC, where they try to spin the lie that Islam is the religion of peace.

As you say, Buddhism is a gentle religion which makes the murders all the worse, as they are attacking a gentle, innocent, peaceful people.

Too true Ellis but as I indicated, it's unlikely that I will encounter Islamic head choppers in Khao Lak but one can never be certain about these things.

I never read the Gridion, in fact , the only newspaper I read is The Times.
