Advice to anyone with sky sports

I phoned to cancel and they offered £5 off for 6 months...I declined and we agreed a cancellation date.

Two days later they emailed and offered sky sports for half price over 6 months if I agreed to stay.

So it's worth a bit of a 'poker stand off' if you want a reduction...if they call your bluff then you can always reinstate it anytime.

Q How much is sky sports a month. Yesterday got a letter saying Sky was going up 3.50 pound a month. I've got full package films lot. Got free Broadband, sky talk got a reduction on that. Knocked me 7.50 pound a month off.

I've just dumped Sports & Movies, and also moved my phone and broadband back to BT, and if it wasn't for the fact that many of the channels we watch are only on Sky then I would get rid of the TV.

Overall the service they provide is excellent, but there's no way I am subsidising that ridiculous Premier League deal that they have signed!

had for years without any trouble, except few month ago.
thought it was router but turned out to be my line (from pole to house)
as a good will for being internetless for a week. sky offered me £7.50 off for 12 month if i signed up for the on demand package. cost =£6.99 delivery free instillation & free box.. so fink i pay about £28 per month + calls (free weekend/evening)

quite a coincidence that kempo old boy because im with virgin and i called to cancel my subscription yesterday and they reduced my sky sports by £10 a month for a full year and also not extending my current contract with which im happy about as it finishes in sept so i will be looking for a decent deal elsewhere.

I pay 47 quid a month for everything. Upgraded a couple of years ago to HD multi room. They had a deal on then for sports, movies sky go etc... Normal price 79 quid. You sign up for a year and I have safely negotiated the same package since I upgraded to HD. They do try and sell you the benefits of having the movies and all the extras but I just said all I wanted to keep was the sports and not to pay any extra than I was already paying. Eventually after realising I wasn't going to pay more they suddenly found the same offer they originally gave me!

I think the trick is not to have your broadband with them as they have you by the short and curly's if you do.

Get a feckin life... There's a world out there, you don't need to spend all your life watching TV.
