I am not so sure that the money men at Burnley dont have a bigger say than you fans think. I agree that Shacks is an important player and you should keep him if you have Prem ambitions, but I suspect the men in grey suits will take the matter out of the managers hands...and the fee wont go above £2m! Or as they say in the press "undisclosed"

I think that you are underestimating the relationship and trust that the board have in Dyche. If Dyche says no one is going anywhere without his say so, then take it as a given.

This is a manager who 'told' the chairmen two summers ago, to come out and tell the fans that there was no money and that we had to sell Austin.

We shall see in the next couple of weeks then. If Shacks says he wants to leave, will test the clubs vs the managers will I am sure. You clearly believe that the manager wields higher powers than us outsiders do, so you shouldnt have anything to worry about our interest. And I dont blame you for wanting to keep hold of better players having lost 2 linch-pins already

If Shackell wants to leave (this has all come from one little line in a paper though) then Dyche will not keep him for the sake of it, he's not like that. He's already stated that he only wants the players here who are up for the challenge.

However, Shackell will not go until we have a replacement.

I have not seen anywhere that Shackell has made a statement that he wants to return to Derby County. If he does then the picture changes, as no manager wants to keep a player who would rather be elsewhere. On another post from a Burnley fan he suggested putting Shackell in the reserves for the season as punishment. Firstly that is a somewhat childish remark, as 2 million speaks volumes & having him sit out the season is ludicrous.
