Apologies C64F: I was just trying to drag up what I remembered from the first time round with this puzzle and that came to mind. It is still relevant I think but obviously not critical.

I wonder if that link is then back through Peter Asher and Gordon Waller and the musical connections with McCartney?

Look, no use fretting about Jane Asher and the precise nature of her link in the Filey/Rotherham/Beatles saga - it will all be explained at the very end, and you'll all say how simple and obvious - and real - was the main link and you'll understand how people like Jane just fitted in around the edges, though she was a very useful pointer during the earlier version of this quiz.

A clue will be forthcoming but I think I'll have to let you swing in the wind for a while....

BTW: Peter Asher & Gordon Waller don't figure in this CTM. If I could find a link to Rotherham, or better still, East Dene, they would. I feel anyone can set a general music quiz so I try to link mine to Rotherham in some form or other.

CT My post no.20,all said in jest (as per usual ) no apologies required.
Like the C64F, so much quicker especially if you happen to be typing with "the index finger of one hand".
It did get the thinking cap on and kept the mind active, getting away from doing my Tax returns from last year was also a bonus so a win win moment for me.

Yes we will have to do a little more research, although if ST is intent on stretching this one out he may attempt to throw a red herring in along the way.

ST we don't need a general music quiz this one`s much better.

So, C64F it is from now on.

    Red herrings? As if....

I've got a whole bucket full (of red herrings) but this connection is straightforward, not based on any pun from a Beatle song title or lyric, nor on any vague connection, eg Ringo's second cousin once appearing at the Albion Road WMC.

The answer just links the Beatles directly with Filey and Rotherham.

CTMiller, sorry I`ve been offline since 8pm last night.

    Tim Moon, Filey.

Blowing in the wind nice one ST.

M`lord or is it You Rang M`Lord.

Paul Shane ( RIP ) alias Juddy Speight ( not sure of the spelling, reminder to ask Villa.)

Juddy used to belt out a song whilst getting showered at work.
He also used to do a stand in at the Baggin, Dalton Brook when the artiste didn't turn up.
Shaftsbury Square in town ST. or thereabouts.

Feel free to join in CT....plenty of time ...the match threads not while Saturday.

and ST I`m not sure I`m correct and not sure how many "scamps" there are on this
    MAD HOUSE.

CT. you can stop fretting Jane Asher starred in You Rang M`Lord.

Trying to crack this I have found out that like Paul McCartney, Delius also holidayed in Filey as a boy.

Bradford boy if I remember correctly, there's a pub near the University called "Delius lived next door", which of course he did. Have had a drink in there quite a few times while daughter was studying at the University. Delius never came in, so perhaps he was revisiting Filey.

Yes Frederick Delius, holidayed in Filey three times according to Wikipedia anyway.

Lighten my mood? I'm nearly always happy and smiling mate! You couldn't meet many more happy-go-lucky people. Never mind glass half full, I'm glass three quarters full, genuinely!
