Sure we needed a plan B and C, but not at the cost of plan A.

Anyone talking of managerial changes in the near future needs to have a word with themselves. Changes on the scale that have been made will not bear fruit overnight.

    Give it time.

Two games, the second after seven changes, and it's all doom and gloom for some. Short memories...

Yes it's only two games but for me I can't see any kind of purpose or strategy in our play going forward. Yet we had bags of this even when we were losing last year. We had runners coming through from deep and from wide and we did it all quickly before teams could respond. Clement seems to be playing a more rigid formation and I don't see yet what Weimann and Bent bring to the table. We need to give Weimann time obviously but I don't understand the Bent signing except as back up. Could all look different next week though

And you're basing that on ten mins at Bolton?

OK I may have been a bit over the top in my initial posting but that was the frustration of watching that diabolical performance last night. The defence did look a lot better but going forward we were like headless chickens and wouldn’t have scored in open play if we were still playing. However other things keep coming to mind.

1 Mel Morris’s statement re appointing Paul Clements because he didn’t want an experienced manager telling him how to run the club. I presume this meant the team. For gods sake isn’t that what the manager/coach is there for? Or does Mel want a yes man?

2 We signed Bent and Ince who were Macs choices. How much input did PC have in these signings or indeed the other signings in the close season?

3 We were led to believe PC had great respect in Spain by supporters but when a few were interviewed on the radio actually none had really heard of him. How many No 2s do you know in the prem here?

OK I do agree with Rats that we should judge after at lea

And you're basing that on ten minutes vs Bolton, and our reserves vs Portsmouth reserves?

After years of no investment, and you were one of the crowd shouting for cash to spend, a local man has come forward and invested MILLIONS into creating a team that can get promoted.

After seeing the new manager's troops for approximately ten minutes at their strongest you are writing him off, and criticising the man who has funded it.

We need more fans like you.

Idiotic posts regarding criticism of the manager at this stage. It may well turn out that losing that irrelevant game enabled Clement to learn something about certain players, earlier rather than later.

It's not just PC getting criticised it's MM too.

What's wrong with judging him on how well we do over a season?
