I haven't seen anything yet to suggest he isn't capable of doing a great job in a very tough division.

Are you part of a hate mob if you

    suggest the football is boring

suggest the team selection /formations are not working

suggest Clement still has it all to prove ?

Don't think so! For 'hate' look at the threads about MacClaren. Its a message board and people will moan and complain. Next you will be suggesting that Clement is being 'bullied'.

We have the joint 2nd best defense in the league, which is in stark contrast to last season. We've picked up 10 of the last 12 points. It may not be the football all want to see, but ffs give the guy a chance. Unbelievable stuff.
what I'm concerned is much more to do with his decisions than anything else. I've seen enough football to know players need time to gel, settle and develop an understanding. but what's that got to do with:

having all 11 players back defending corners
seemingly thinking Warnock is somehow better than forsyth
the lottery between the two as to who starts
bring lee grant in for one game
reluctance to bring Darren bent on in the last 4 home games we were drawing (

Rapid agree with all you say.

Bear I'm sorry you don't like my comments. What you fail to understand is that I'm a prominent member of the grumpy old gits club. In fact, come to think of it, I was a grumpy young git. I'm just not happy unless I'm grumpy. 'Message sent from my ipad on planet zog'.

Sorry to hear your view on this wristslasher. I have suggested that we may not, in my opinion, make top two this season. That's not being anti PC, just realistic in terms of the difficulty of the challenge. I like Clement & desperately want him to succeed.

    In Clements defence.....

He isn't tinkering too much, Clement is new to the club, Grant and Carson are battling for the jersey, one way to manage is to wait for a goalkeeper to suffer a period of bad form, I.e. Cost us goals, lose us points, then react and make the change, another way is to give them both a chance, it's clear that Carson has edged it so far, it's also clear that Carson has played more games, yes it's not the norm, but it's not anything that worries me.

Similar in Warnock and Forsyth, except there hasn't been an awful lot between them, Warnock has his haters, but Forsyth hasn't made himself un droppable for me, Clement needs to see the players reactions, and attitudes, and he does, we don't.

All our pre season work was ripped apart within 20 mins at Bolton.

It's been difficult for him, he is a manager who uses logic, and statistics, percentages etc. which is a little boring to listen to, he lacks the inspirational tongue you might hear from the likes of mo

It's all in Wisty's head.. He reads half a post and comes to the wrong conclusion. There are a few on his list that I dont think have had a dig at PC.

I'll be on the list if we haven't won a home game by the end of October!

I do think that some have been a bit quick to judge the new regime. We've seen in the past that a slow steady start to the season makes no difference to the final outcome. Smith, Cox, Clough, Davies etc. Let the new systems and processes bed in over 12-15 matches and then let's have a look at the progress.

For me, at the moment, it looks like a very strong squad very capable of finishing in the top 3 or 4 of the

I gave you all chance to defend yourselves and you did admirably.

I agree with a lot of the sensible comments that have come back, but I feel a lot of posters have been guilty of judging far too early. A lot of changes have been taking place at the club so let's see things settle down before writing off PC.

I understand the Carson/Grant, Forsyth/Warnock, Christie/Baird debate, but I see it differently. I see that PC is obviously not convinced on any of the 6 players mentioned and at some point I think we will see replacements in all of those positions. Imagine putting a top quality GK, RB and LB into the current squad. We need another option for centre forward too, and another attacking midfielder. So in my opinion we are 5 players short! Get your cheque book out Mel.

If we could go back in time and put Poom, Eranio, Nish, Hinton and O'Hare in – I think we would be somewhere near a great side!

I agree that some of Clem's decisions have been puzzling, mystifying even, Rapid, but it isn't fair to say 'he had all summer to assess the squad and how to play'. The injuries to key players - Hughes and Bryson - and the 'will he won't he?' nature of Thorne's fitness has caused a lot of disruption to any pre-season plans. He's fortunate to have been given money to buy replacements but it still takes time.

'how to play' - yes I accept your point (although did anyone expect thorne to be fit for long...?). I was referring more to the forsyth/carson situation when I spoke of assessing the squad. As I and I imagine 95%+ of regular attendees will testify, Warnock has been ********* ever since he joined us. His debut typified his contribution so far. I was gutted when Warnock started the first game of the season. I asked myself how a good manager can come to the conclusion that Warnock if a better option than forsyth? I thought after another shocker against Bolton and forsyth coming back in he'd realised his mistake but then Warnock keeps coming back in. don't get me wrong, forsyth is inconsistent but he's nowhere near a bad as Warnock.

going back to your original point I concede that the injury to hughes was very unfortunate, particularly as he's a key player with rare qualities.

Can't explain what's happened with Warnock. I was really pleased when McClaren signed him. Always rated him wherever he's been and thought he would be a really crucial signing. It's just not worked out, ever since that debut red card. The only time I've seem him play well was against Villareal, mystifying.
