It's an interesting one isn't it? He seems to have blossomed a tad since being given the armband...just as keogh did in reverse. [/quote]

Funny how we all see things differently, I thought Martin was generally struggling since he had the armband. MKD a good example..
A great game yesterday but of all our players I think he was struggling to adapt to Clement and new systems.
From what we are seeing in the last few games, Johnson is becoming the man who should be skipper..

Bradders is undoubtedly a fine footballer who will win us games this year...I said as much after his debut...but CM was the top bloke yesterday who ran mission control. There

No disagreement about how important CM is to the team Ella, just whether his position allows him to influence things, from a captaincy point of view, as much as a 'midfield general' can. Full of admiration for the bravery involved in the second goal - old school centre forward's header - makes his reputation for collapsing to the ground all too easily even more frustrating, but then I suppose he gets hit from behind so regularly that he feels he has to try and get something from it. Unfortunately I feel we have got to the stage where his reputation goes before him and referees aren't giving him much.

It's important to remember these players can be leaders without the captain's armband. Thorne is always organising and motivating, as is Shackell and Keogh. Johnson shows real grit and leads by example, which are great qualities for a captain, but why change anything? What we're doing now really is working.

Make this just about right.. We are lucky this term we have leaders all over. Not really bothered who has the band as Shackell, Martin and Johnson are all well capable.
