Not saying we should go for him at any price southern, but the idea of preventing him going to our promotion rivals - Wednesday and Boro' - would be another benefit.

I don't understand this huge hype around Wednesday. I don't see any team outside the current top five being a promotion rival. I think just because they beat *bleep*nal, everyone's jumped on the wagon when in reality they'll be lucky to get playoffs.

Not really 'hype' RamBam, nor is it based on them beating Ars enal. I consider them a threat because they're just six points behind us - very little at this stage of the season - and they're a 'sleeping giant' who have a better manager and more money to spend in the forthcoming 'window' than I can remember for a while. Just my opinion but I think they'll be one of the eight or nine pushing for the playoffs in five months or so.

When I've seen SWFC they have reminded me a bit of Derby especially going forward. They break at pace and have some useful attacking players. Brentford sit 11th 4pts off a play off spot, in my eyes that makes them and anyone above them live contenders given the play off lottery.

No doubt a good player at this level with goals in him, despite his age. But does he offer more than Bent? I don't think so, so we're covered in that respect.

With Wiemann showing he has an eye for goal, if Martin was to get injured, we should still have a killer strike force, and enough talent / depth in midfield to change style if required.

If we were to look for strength in this area, it would either be if injury struck (to cover for the cover players, if that makes sense), or to bolster / improve our 1st team options (ie bring in someone list Austin).

I think there are plenty of teams pushing for the playoffs. The only problem with that is, that I think there's only one available spot due to the top five fighting it out for the automatics. Unless a team 'does a Derby' and falls away then I don't think it's going to change. Six points is a lot to make up for when you consider the class divide between us and some of the teams in the bottom half who are quite simply league one (although we drew to a large amount of them).

Don't get me wrong, when we play

Ian ormondroyd.... Brilliant blast from the past. He was the first derby player I remember playing for us.

    God you're depressingly young Triz!

Fond memories though, of Ormondroyd and Davison together during the latter's all too brief return. Twenty three years ago now I think. Remember being gutted when he went to Leicester...and then turned up in the side that beat us at Wembley!

Didn't Ormondroyd then go on to play Gareth in The Office?
