I cant disagree with Aucks, we certainly seem to have had a change in fortune with oggy's, penalties, spawny goals and refereeing decisions. Onwards and upwards, my boss is a Florist fan, so I hope we stuff them to give me a bounce in my step on Tuesday!

Hardly Lambert's fault he's had reasonable fortune. If general play hasn't improved since GB, why is that such a surprise? Takes at least 10 games IMO for a new manager to influence things properly.

I wouldn't say it was horrific saxo just wasn't quite as useful as the Bristol games cameo
I think a few of our fans have written him off and that's that

To be frank, Saxo, I'm quite happy with your take on this. Your view is that only the points matter, and to hell with the rest. That's a perfectly reasonable position for a fan to take. At least you're not twisting the facts.
When I look at some of the posts since Lambert took over, though - especially on the other Rovers sites, I scratch my head.
Quite honestly, if Bowyer had been in charge for that performance against Rotherham, the post-match comments would have gone something like this:
    - Negative tactics in a home game
    - Setting out the team to draw, not win
    - Hanley and Duffy shouldn't be paired
    - Poor use of substitutions
    - Long-ball tactics with no target-man
    - Brown and Williamson shouldn't even be on the bench for the Reserves!
    - No sign of any of our promising youngsters
    - We should be hammering teams like Rotherham
    - Only scraped an undeserved win because of an opposition own goal
    - BOWYER OUT!!

And if you think I'm exaggerating, just look back,

    But becau

I say again, bowyer deserves credit for leaving the club in a reasonable place for an improved manager to take up the reins. Lambert has definatly benefitted from the job bowyer had done. Its now Lambert's job to move things onto the next level. Very similar to Kenny taking over from don Mackay.

Many say he's overweight and blowing after 10 mins effort.. Don't know if there's any truth in that.. One particular incident highlighted was he apparently headed a ball, that was going out for a throw to us, straight to their player, setting them on the attack.

    Aucks
it was hardly a masterclass but I see where you are coming from
it was better than the Birmingham game but I have to say it was probably the second worst rovers display this season
    am I worried?no
if all our displays under Lambert matched that I would be very concerned but we have played well and I put it down to a one off.

Penalties in our favour; deflected goals; red cards for our opponents; opposition penalty-appeals turned down; own goals. It seems pretty obvious to me that, purely in the footballing sense, there has been no major shift.
And this game? Three points never in doubt? Even in that first 20 minutes? We seemed to be all over the place in that period, according to commentary and reports.
Results do say a lot Aucks. Although I don't discount the new manager factor either. Whether things have got better depends on what you look at. If anyone's thinking we'll be playing like Barca just because Lambert has come in, then they'll be pretty disappointed. It is very hard to gu

The facts are that as Dan quite rightly points out ,we actually look as if we are trying to win the game.

PL has inherited a squad thats been told for two seasons Do Not lose the game. Performances have proved that. There were games at home where our midfield were sat so deep we looked like we had a back eight not four.Players didnt get forward and the number of games were we sat so deep and invited the opposition to score first (which they did quite often) was mind boggling.Hence GB had a flatline record of win one draw one lose one.Now that is down to the manager.

What PL seems to be doing is getting the players to actually think WIN.Now as for the football side, again his hands are tied with the players GB brought into the club and the mindset he driiled into them. That will take time and probably new aquisitions to change and will not happen overnight. But its easier to try and start to play football when you re actauly winning games than losing. PL is at the moment winning games
