re: One result away

IMO, (and forget financial fair play etc, we'll all cling to whatever ****ty stick is offered if it will save us drowning and Derby, Forest and Leicester have all been there):

Derby's and Forest's achievements are equal, and equally massive. I personally class any league win over any cup win and I could consider a single league win as a 'fluke' but not a double league win (Derby) or a double Cup win (Forest). I'm talking the glory years here obviously, if I included the Brian Clough Trophy there would be no contest.

Leicester are some way behind with a single league win, let's see if it is a fluke or the beginning of a Leicester legacy. I haven't even got an opinion on that
C'mon 61, behave.

LFC had already had a season back in the top flight.
Banked a **** load of money, then spent circa £35 million on top of that seasons expenditure.
Clough did it like this-

England: Nottingham Forest (1977/78)
Brian Clough winning the 1971/72 English title with Derby County was a major achievement, but replicating that with Forest's "team of has-beens" – who had barely scraped promotion in 1976/77 – was massive. Clough and Peter Taylor's oddball squad finished seven points clear of European champions Liverpool – who they also beat in the League Cup final. "I am a little bit stupid and a little bit of an idealist," the manager said. "We want to entertain, fill grounds and make people happy." They did that and more.

I like the last bit. They beat the double Euro cup holders to the title as well.

BTW, in todays money, NFFC spent the equivalent of £4,5M in today's money.
Would £4.5 million win you the title

typical biased quote really,

A bigger achievment than Leicester's this season would be Burnley going on to winning the Premier League next season!

Yes or no numpty?
Dear oh Dear. you really are a sandwich short of a picnic Es***

of course it would be bigger achievement likewise if any other team did it

but the fact of the matter is so far they have not

so whats you`re point Es*** ??? numpty
So what's my point?, ok let me try so you can understand it,

What I like about this, is the Notts fans giving us grief over LFC having a marvellous season and achievement.
All in the vain attempt of a crippling blow of local ridicule.

Quick recap of the tables shows me that Notts are bottom of that pile and looking extremely abysmal in every department.
The knuckle draggers from Mansfield have rubbed their noses in it big time.
To be a Notts fan at this moment in time, must mean you have the testicles of a mountain Gorilla to even raise your head.

Oh the old Trickytrees trick of I'm losing an argument so let's change the subject, we know Notts are crap at the moment and we would love to be in your position but what as that got to do with the topic?

Yes I agree 61.
But they aren't the same

LFC had had a season in the top flight to steady the ship.
Spent 5 times the money
Had two managers who progressed them

Really glad they shoved it up the big guns asses, I really am.
But a promoted team going on to win the top crown, really does take some out doing.
But no one outside of the city ground agrees with you TT.
absolute crap, An established Premier League side has just won the Premier League! Whoop whoop so what, good for them congra
