Why do think we see so much inequality these days ?
Many reasons... I am not saying that lazy workers or unions who over-reached their remit were solely responsible for the fact that we no longer have solely British car industry, aircraft, electronics, chemicals, coal, steel, motorcycles etc.. but they weren't blameless. When it came to competing, we weren't equipped. Crap management and short-sighted unions along with tory governments killed our industries - we are doing now what should have been done then, but because they wouldn't see what was in front of them, we have to do it more severely.

I've never suggested Brexit would end inequality anywhere on this board , only a left wing government will do that and that's not going to happen .
Brexit offers the opportunity to end migration and cheap labour , if cheap labour isn't available in abundance then naturally wages increase .
It offers a fighting opportunity , nothing more , but an opportunity none the less .

Immigration will not reduce. Prices will rise, jobs will go, welfare payments will increase. Not too much of an opportunity there...

As I've mentioned on the other thread , migrants only come here for a certain period of time , at the moment it's a revolving door but if migration is cut then that labour naturally goes down .

Lots of people seem to have all the answers concerning the effects of Brexit , the truth is nobody really knows but I'd suggest if cheap labour is culled then there's a window of opportunity to get low wages up than there was staying in the EU .

I agree the unions of the 70s and 80s have to take their share of responsibility regarding our manufacturing demise by the way .

All of the ones I know and work with have been here for seven or eight years, and those who have come recently seem to have no intention of going anywhere...
The economic predictions made before the vote seem to be 'crystallising' to use the BoE's terminology, and the pound is falling through the floor. Perhaps it will help our exports... won't help me when I go on holiday in two months though...

so can they tell the government as they have no clue. which is a bit strange as they criticised the SNP for the exact same thing 2 years ago.

I've seen loads go back home over the years where I live and work , quite a few are considering their futures right now , it's obviously unsettling for them I guess .
I guess when over 70% of the town they reside and work in vote to leave the EU it's bound to unsettle them further .

To sum up my thoughts on this topic I guess we all want what's best for our families , different areas and clearly country's have different problems and therefore differing opinions but we really are divided as a nation and then some .

I was prepared to take my chances with Brexit , we've so little to lose around my parts that the risk hardly matters , that's a sad state of affairs in itself .

I've nothing against migrants personally , one of my fellow collegues is a good friend but when it impacts to the extent it does on my family , their future and the town I love I have to look at it for what it is and vote accordingly .

Good luck to everyone on here with whatever the future holds and what you guys decide .
