AYep. I don't have a problem with any of that. You're not creating two separate boards; simply finding a way to park lengthy OT threads somewhere else so that football related topics get more airtime on the main page. If your approach does work, I'd say it's a good compromise. Well done.
In fairness to Frog, millmoormagic, his approach does try to keep things as they are. He isn't advocating the creation of a second OT board. This approach of parking certain lengthy OT posts elsewhere so that they disappear more quickly from the main page allows more football related posts to remain longer in view. To me that seems a reasonable compromise. We give a slight priority to football related posts at the expense of some of the lengthier OT posts that are of a minority interest but those posts are still active and can be viewed by anybody.
Yeh i do understand where froggy is coming from, i'm not having a dig really, and absolutely accept that this is a football teams message board and should promote the football threads, i just think that it's a needless form of management when all folk have to do is ignore what they don't wanna read....
It's another nail in the coffin.
Frog loses a vote re separating off topic by a country mile and then introduces separation supported by those who don't like off topics!
Off topics made this board not guess the crowd posts or can we pay on the day.
Are people so thick that if they see O/T then they cannot simply not read the posts?
Moving posts that have a lot of responses so therefore must interest members is the height of stupidity and will be destructive.
As an intelligent poster who has been hopefully a useful poster for many years I can only finish with a wry smile and no further comment.

Where have you read that I wanted a seperate board kempo?
I always think of this board as a bunch of Millers sat around a table in a pub discussing footy and owt else that crops up as the night goes on.
You have been removing O/T posts and transferring them to a different section even though the vast majority voted for the status quo.
There have been many votes over the years as bigrich repeatedly attempted to shut down O/T but the members have repeatedly voted to leave things as they are.
If members don't like O/T posts then don't read them but that seems too complex for some!
