So giving it some lateral thought is this what's going on?
Finishing 7th last year made the board very complacent and so that's why very little was done in the transfer market.
.....SD has failed this season to inspire the team as previously. None of those actions make any sense at all and I have no idea why unless its all part of the Relegation commitment.
Maybe the big picture is that our present set up is not sustainable for the Prem and that no more money is to be used to keep a broken ship from sinking. Better to get that over with quickly then rebuild without pressure.
Once down maybe SD and the Board will part company the following year saving undue focus and negativity. They all feel SD deserves that.
The worst case is that there is no plan at all
been here before - heeler....the 7th place finish was a Fluke imo - there was much disorder in that PL season, player /manager/board disruption, meant a lot of confusion - so the standard of play outside of those top special ones, was I think predominantly poor - but we at least had "something" solid with defence and net, meant we could risk sitting back and allowing them on to us - then, just bide our time for that sneaky goal - and when the time came that those others began to gather their act...we had those all important points. So...was never going to be as undemanding this time around - and for us to compete at a safe level - changes were needed , that was obvious to all - why they weren't made no sense because we expect commitment , that's only natural, so does seem that our game has departed from the aberrant and has unfortunately been played into crooked hands - as is clearly not on the square.... .

And this mentality has permeated through to the players, they've realised that they're playing for a club that doesn't really care if it gets relegated....does it really matter that much to them any more ? why should it if it doesn't matter to the board ?
I think Sinkov - "we" can be sure of knowing the absolute truth of it - in the Jan window....it's their last chance imo, and if tru that the players are somehow resigned to the drop - and don't give a damn because of either their own weakness or boards commitment - then I think the support should do the same - if we're being misguided by those controlling the club -and also cheated on the field, then we'd be fools to allow the lie to continue unchecked omo.

I watched the Selhurst Park sh-itshow on cable TV in a sports bar in Prague. Everyone watching said Burnley are already relegated, I found it difficult to disagree.
